Get's rid of bacteria that doggie toothpaste will not work on
Totally recommend this product. Our yorkies had reddened gums at the tooth line, and a bit of an odor from the affected area. Used this product and in 24 hours, odor went away. In 3 days, gums at tooth line are bubble gum color again. But they hated the first application (with a Q-tip). Finger brush works better, especially now since inflammation is gone. Now part of dental regimen which includes toothpaste and chew toys. Well worth it!

Senior dog breath cured in 3 days
Day 3 and my senior girl's bad breath is cured! I have a 9 yo boxer who has gingival hyperplasia which causes TERRIBLE breath and mouth bleeding. The vet told me to try an oral rinse and I came across dentahex and figured I'd give it a try. Day 3 and her terrible breath is literally gone! She doesn't appreciate doing it at all tho but my 8 month old boxer loves it! I decided to start him off young so he doesn't fight me as he gets older. I say give it a shot if your baby has gawd awful fish odor breath. I am pleased.

Does what it is supposed to do.
My dog started "smacking" his lips a lot. I peeked at his gums and one section was red and inflamed and another on a was also quite red. We've an appointment to see the vet, but this has been helpful to keep him comfortable and keep the area clean in the meantime. I've only been using it for a few days, so too soon to tell if it whitens. You get a lot for the money and to use I poured some into a tiny spray bottle so it's easier to use and apply to his gum line, it helps a lot.

Trying
I soak some qtips in some of the sollution, then I put it on my dogs teeth and gums. He does not like the taste, but it seems to help his gums. Then I brush with an enzymatic toothpaste. Heart disease and other health issues from gum disease in pets are pretty serious, so I am hoping this helps.

Miracle
I can not believe the difference this made the very first use. I have an 8yr miniature Poodle/Bichon mix. He's a rescue and is awaiting to get his teeth cleaned. Daily brushing doesn't help. His breath was soooooo disrespectful and disgusting, I mean the smell was soooooooooo bad. I've changed vets last week and she recommended this product. I put two small squirts on his top gums and the smell literally went away within mins. That was at 3pm after he ate dinner, its now 2am and still no smell...This is like a miracle.... I highly recommend...

Superb product ... but ya gotta USE IT!
One of my cats (recently arrived off the street) had severe gingivitis, so bad that my vet didn't want to give her a dental cleaning because of the excessive bleeding it might cause. The vet recommended daily application of Dentahex for a month before dentistry. After a month of Dentahex treatment, my vet was thrilled with the improvement, and my cat now has a much safer dental appointment scheduled. The vet was so pleased that she cut the Dentahex treatments back to three times a week from once a day. (Can't tell you how happy that made both of us ... me and the cat.) The label on the bottle tells you to squirt the Dentahex along the gumline on each side of the mouth, then let it spread through the oral cavity. I'm against that, and so is my vet. Neither of us wants the cat ingesting more of this stuff than absolutely necessary. (Read the warning on your own bottle of mouthwash; if you swallow a hefty mouthful, you're urged to seek immediate medical attention.) Here's what I do: I get brand-name Q-Tips. They have more cotton at the tip than the store brands. I let 2 or 3 of them marinate for a few minutes in the Dentahex, so that the tips get super-saturated. That way, if you can just (gently) press the business end of the Q-Tip for a second or two against the animal's gums (upper and lower, both sides) the saturated Q-Tip will release its payload of Dentahex, and the rinse should spread through the mouth evenly. And as long as you've managed to get the Q-Tip in there anyhow, seize the moment and GENTLY move it back and forth along the animal's gums, even if only for a second or two. I know this isn't easy for most of us. It wasn't easy for me. I've had lots of cats over the years, and not one of them took medication gladly. The technique I've described above made it at least POSSIBLE for me to do the right thing for this cat. (And it still wasn't easy.) But if you love your animal(s), the alternative -- just bailing and saying, "This is too much for me!" -- is something to strongly resist. Poor oral health promotes a pro-inflammatory state throughout the body, for all animals including us. Your dog or cat can't tell you, "Hey, I feel lousy." But take it on faith that if you don't look after their oral health conscientiously ... and their gums get really bad ... lousy and sick is exactly how they'll feel. Final thought: I have to do this all by myself, seated in a wheelchair. If you can rustle up a volunteer in your home, and the two of you simply double-team the dog or cat, while standing up ... then in my book you're out of excuses.

Dog hated the taste
Bought this to add to my dog's dental routine. He did not like the taste at all. I tried some. I can see why he had the reaction he did. It's gross. I don't see why any dog would enjoy something akin to minty alcohol. If your dog can tolerate it, I can see it working. I did notice breath improvement immediately after. It is very minty. There's food coloring in formula. Seems unnecessary.

I believe this is a benefit for my small dog's teeth. Will buy again.
I believe this is a benefit for my small dog's teeth. I do not use the provided applicator in the top. I use a longer eye dropper. The provided applicator sprays too much liquid cannot control the output. Her last vet check commented on her teeth looking good. She is under 10 lbs and susceptible to tooth decay.
