Excellent value for money
I won't call this the fastest SATA SSD around, but got it for Rs. 4400 during the sale which puts it way cheaper that anything else for a TLC drive and it shows decent performance for the money. After filling the drive to about 65%, there was no degradation in the read/write speeds. When compared to Crucial BX500, it was little slower for an empty drive; but once filled the performance on BX500 drops on the write speeds. Its a good drive for anyone upgrading from a HDD or as a game drive as moving up to NVME for gaming has little merit.

Cooling Fan will have peaceful life
Fixed it on my 12 year old MacBook Pro. It was very easy to install. The weight of my system has reduced, but not significantly. Remember, this is a Pro and it's 12 year old, and while there're no vacuum tubes used, still it's a heavy system. The most significant thing to notice is the reduced energy consumption by the system. The consistent loud noise of cooling fan is a thing of past. I hear some sound only at the time of booting the system. It's been only a few months, till now satisfied about the product. Value-for-money, up till now.

Don't Buy this SSD.
I purchased an SP Silicon SSD from Amazon, and it gives good performance only for the first few seconds of copying. As soon as it reaches around 10โ20%, the speed drops drastically to KBps or even 0 bytes per second. I sent it for warranty service, but itโs been over a month and thereโs still no response or update from the service center. Very poor product quality and terrible after-sales support. Don't buy this SSD"

Value for money
Its working very well as of now. Crystaldiskmark over 550Mbps Read and over 500 Mbps Write. Obviously it will reduce as it gets filled, but at this price of 3.7K for 1TB, there is no alternative (Note this is Desktop - A320M MB & R3 3200G).

Excellent 1TB SSD for the $
This was one of the best values I've found for SSD's in the 1TB range. Most others still run well over $100 for 1TB of storage (at the time of this review in Dec 2019). Silicon Power does provide free software for download to check and monitor the health (and check the SMART stats) of their SSD drives - SP Toolbox. I would recommend downloading the free utility from SP's website for occasionally checking and ensuring your drive is in good health. From a transfer rate perspective, this SSD works as advertised, and performs as well as a Crucial MX SSD 3D NAND that I also have installed in the same desktop system. SSD's are best for general purpose use - primarily as boot drives for OS and apps, especially on laptops. The OS will boot much, much faster from a SSD compared to a mechanical HDD, and the SSD will consume a lot less power than a mechanical HDD. Apps also launch in a fraction of the time on a SSD. The only drawback with a SSD is its overall shelf life - it has a limited number of writes, which not a huge factor if you're only using the drive for booting the OS and running apps. For media storage, backups, databases, and large files, mechanical HDD's are still the way to go, and they're still a lot less expensive than a SSD. Over time, if you write or delete a lot of data from a SSD drive, performance will begin to deteriorate. Most however will not encounter much in the way of performance degradation, even after several years of drive use. Either way, SSD is best for "read" operations, and will vastly outperform a mechanical HDD for reading data, hence the much faster boot and app launch times. They are well worth it for the performance boost...time is money. Silicon Power seems to be making quality drives that work, but time will tell. If it fails or clunks out early, I'll be back here to modify my review. Otherwise, no complaints, 5 stars.
