Product Description A lonely teenage horror-movie fan discovers a mysterious computer game that uses hypnosis to custom-tailor the game into the most terrifying experience imaginable. desertcart.com A virtual reality game that allows players to commit murders is the crux for the high-tech thriller Brainscan. Edward Furlong (Terminator 2) stars as a monster movie/video game fanatic who receives a CD-ROM that challenges players to carry out brutal killings. When Furlong discovers that the murder has also occurred in real life, he attempts to rid himself of the game, but its hideous "referee," Trickster (T. Ryder Smith), refuses to let him quit until he has eliminated all witnesses--including the girl he loves (Amy Hargreaves). A flavorless retread of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, Brainscanis undone by its principals' lack of interest in producing a suspenseful film. Director John Flynn offers little variation on its stalk-and-slash scenes, and Furlong gives a half-hearted performance, though some of that blame must lie with Andrew Kevin Walker's leaden script. Brainscanwill offer passing interest to only the most non-discerning Elm Street aficionado. --Paul Gaita Review: Consciousness, Poetry, and Mayhem - This movie is wicked. This movie is funny. And it is certainly wickedly funny. It will also change the way many people who watch it look at the world. It delivers in every facet of movie making. Each of the main characters owns his role so thoroughly that the viewer can't imagine anyone else doing it. The cinematography is lush, the sound is riveting, and the pacing is so tense it's almost painful. It is everything good that this sort of surrealist phantasy usually isn't. It is mind-blowingly weird, yet each step of the plot follows step like an equation. No character is a one-dimensional cartoon. Frank Langella manages to be ominous and sympathetic. Edward Furlong does the alienated teen bit but with a moral sense rare for that kind of part. There are even scenes which are painfully gruesome to watch which yet leave the viewer chuckling when the movie is over in the same way that a really improbable punch line makes a joke memorable. Nobody will think the money nor the time spent watching wasted. Review: Cult 90s Horror Gem - •Blu-Ray looks & sounds great• Shout! Factory delivers again with the special features. Exactly as described & arrived on time.

"When He Started Got Up Dancing Around The Room, Classic!"
I remembered I bought this on VHS, twenty-seven years ago. Years later it came out on DVD with movie and trailer. With no special features. But when Shout! Factory let this came out on Blu-Ray with movie and special features And great picture and sound. I had to buy it. Great performances and roles by Edward Furlong, Frank Langella and the rest of them Trickster says some hilarious stuff. "It doesn't have to make sense. All these horror films you watch. Does death death death make sense, no its not about sense, it's about dead dead dead! And there are plenty. Trust me. If you're definitely a horror fan, you want this. I recommend it.

Entertaining
I love obscure movies like this that many people have forgotten about. I remember seeing it when it first came out. I know many want to say things about the technology in this movie & that it doesn’t work like that. First off, that technology was fairly new at the time of release, at least in the public realm. I would think many people didn’t really know how the technology worked then & many laypeople such as myself STILL have no actual idea how the technology actually works & I don’t 100% care if a movie gets details completely right. All entertainment requires some suspension of belief in order to enjoy it. Those who can’t do that are often complaining about all kinds of movies & tv shows because they spent so much time picking it apart that they didn’t actually enjoy it. I personally think exploring the “what ifs” of a new technology is interesting, even if the “what ifs” are highly unlikely or even impossible. It’s just a movie, people! First disc had to be returned because it blacked out in one scene. New disc did not have any issues, although when I got the new disc, I noticed something I did see on another review. The reflective part of the disc is purple, like a burned disc. Nothing else seems that way other than the color. Weird.

Wish I grew up watching this
Glad I bought this because it's the first time watching this for me and I loved it!!! A lot of re-watch ability, Extremely like-able characters. This movie is like (Nickelodeon's) "Are you afraid of the dark- on steroids" with gore! The music is fantastic too! I really wish it had a proper release with a slip and more attention towards the packaging but the cover art is good. Quality transfer, a lot of vivid purple lighting in this movie.

Definitivamente buena comprar, es difícil de conseguir aquí en México, lo único que puedo comentar para que los compradores tengan cuidado, es el hecho de que no contiene subtítulos al español, es más, no contiene menú ni siquiera. No me arrepiento de la compra.

The blu ray doesn't work on my multi region player. Amazon and the seller have not returned my enquiries for a replacement or refund. Very disappointing.

So this movie is a very crazy Slasher/Fantasy that has great atmosphere characters and story. Its a great 90s horror movie. I couldn't get this in the UK so ordered it from spain as it has the English Dub included. It was shipped in one day and it has a note on a sticker that said it includes english language. Great Service from these guys. A fantastic film.
