This vice works exactly what it is made for,I use it for wood carving.

I wanted to use this for carving ducks, figurines and to attach a vise for fine model work. This base is adjustable and will allow 360 degree rotational movement complete with angular pivoting adjustments. The clamping locking mechanism is quick and fast acting with very good adjustable clamping action.

Absolutely love it! It holds like it’s supposed to, and the locking mechanism is rock solid. Should point out though, that it’s billed as fitting the Wilson 63248 Super Junior vice- it doesn’t. The bolts don’t line up, so you’ll have to fabricate some kind of a flange to connect the two. And while the locking mechanism is solid, the bolt that holds the mounting plate to it has a tendency to loosen, so you might need to use some locktite. Otherwise I’m not sorry I bought it!

The unit showed up in a busted up box and several chips in the edges of top and bottom connecting rings. Maybe a third of those chips were from the shipping; the rest had rust on them so I assume they from the initial shipment to the warehouse. I didn't give the unit a 1 star rating since it does perform what I purchased it to do very well, holding work solid in any direction that I require. What annoys me is that the unit showed up chipped, scratched and rusted; now I have to spend a Saturday afternoon cleaning up, wire wheeling, and painting what I thought would be a pristine unit - THAT is why I bought it RETAIL price. I will no longer buy 'NEW' on Amazon after this- PERIOD!

Great product for my wood carving hobby.

I’ve been using a 301 for large wood carvings. Picked this one up for smaller pieces and travel.

Great little vise mount. Turns any way you want it to. I'm surprised Wilton doesn't make a vise to fit it. I had to modify one to fit the mount.
