It is sadly true that it is not always easy to fall asleep. This gently amusing, highly effective anthology of soporific dullness has been carefully curated to put readers to sleep as quickly as possible. With a pillowy case wrap, stultifying illustrations, and pages of sheep to count, this giftable godsend for the under-rested features dozens of snoozy short texts, including "The Motion of Sand Dunes," "The Administrative Bureaucracy of the Byzantine Empire," "White Noise: A Technical Explanation," and many dozens moreโ though good luck reading very far on any one evening. Insomniacs will also appreciate "A Staring Contest with Fifty Cats," "Some Interesting Mathematical Theorems," "The Dullest Entries from Interesting Diaries," and other zzzzzzzz.

It works!
I LOVE this book. I used it throughout my pregnancy when I couldnโt fall asleep and it worked miracles! Itโs just interesting to want to keep reading, but itโs written in such boring language that itโs easy to nod off. This has saved me so many times!

An insomnia cure
This book is funny and painfully boring at the same time. I've never slept better. 5 stars

Hilarious and wonderful
This book is so clever and fun, I love it. It very much gets me in the mood to sleep.

you might find the topics interesting and then the book will function the opposite of a sleep aid
5 stars for the ingenuity of idea and execution of the book, it's a very cool idea. taking one star off because the book is supposed to be silly and cheeky but as an actual sleep aid, and this is going to be subjective for everyone, you may find some, many or even almost all of the topics covered in the book interesting enough not to be condusive to sleep. but still such a creative premise for a book and I can imagine person to person maybe it would be a useful sleep aid. maybe check the index before buying and if half or more the topics you think i want to learn more about that then buy if you are curious about the topics or about just this very weird and interesting book, but don't expect it as a legitament sleep aid. i went back and forth on knocking off a star because the concept is really cool and how else would you do the concept without going all in on it being a sleep aid, but also it can be very much the opposite of a sleep aid for some people (again that is kinda cool in its own way speaking to the book's really original concept)

Boring book
Boring in the best way possible. I read to stay away from screens at bedtime. Try not to read anything too interesting. This book lives up to its title.

Not sure this will work as advertised.
This book arrived today, and it's my lunch break, so I really haven't "tested" it yet under the right experimental conditions. That being said, just from a cursory inspection of some of the entries, I wonder if the damn thing will keep me up laughing instead of putting me to sleep.

No more than five minutes . . .
. . . and I'm asleep. Honest! The (mostly) less-than-fascinating articles are on two facing pages, then on to the next topic. "Find the difference" puzzles (cats faces, moths, etc.) can be hypnotic while your eyes roam over the two pages. Good for those times when you want to read something, but nothing too deep or exciting that will keep you awake. My copy stays by the bed, better than sleep medicine.

Pretty dull, yes, but it's not Benadryl
Parts of it are actually interesting, and some even humorous. Unfortunately, I did not find myself nodding off while reading it. Catchy title, though, and not a bad concept.

Perfect gift for the father who says he can't sleep
My dad always has issues sleeping and falling to sleep. This was the PERFECT present for him in humour and practical aspects
