This is a great set. Everything seems to be first class. I played this game all the time back in the 60s and 70s and then life started and somewhere my set was lost. The only thing that bothers me is the slick plastic pieces. they are slippery. I remember my old set had wooden pieces like checker pieces. Easy to grab and move without them slipping around. Otherwise, good price and nice looking set. Below, Amazon calls it a toy... it is not a toy, it's a strategy game to sharpen your mind. I would not hesitate to give this to a 5 year old or a 90 year old..... I'm 80 and love it.

I ordered this backgammon set specifically to use when traveling so please keep that in mind when reading this review. I looked at many different sets before ordering and thought I had written down the proper measurements but when I received this set I was a little surprised that it was bigger than expected. Going back to the measurements it is exactly as advertised 11x7.5 closed. This is slightly larger than the zippered backgammon sets found on Amazon which are 9.125x7. The weight is 1 pound 14oz for this set vs 1 pound 9 oz for the zippered set. See my attached photos to see if the difference matters to you. I know it doesn't seem like a big difference but in the hand or shoving it into my backpack it did seem to matter. To use in your home or a situation where you aren't tight on space (an RV or car travel) this is a great option. That being said, I am very impressed with this "Get The Games Out" set. It is very well made, includes nicely printed colored game instructions as well as a special tip's booklet and is nicely boxed. You would not be embarrassed to give this as a gift. I did order a smaller set for my travel (I tend to pack a lot so every ounce and inch counts, especially in my carry on backpack) but I think I will keep this set and give it as a gift because it is really that nice.
