Rescue - 3 Year Data Recovery Plan for Internal/Bare Drives

Even though the hard drive associated with this protection plan arrived in non working condition this protection plan cannot be refunded so this protection plan is a complete waste of money. I do not recommend buying this as it offers no benefit.

I always purchase this for my drives, its a must, if you value your data, in different occassions i had a 500gb and a 250gb which data was lost because the drives died, and they recovered the data successfully for both drives, totally worth it.

This product is worth anything. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CRAP. I will never buy this again. I have been every reason as to why they will not honor their service plan. The drive 4 TB WD HDD with SN WCC7K3HH3H8U, doesnt come with any rescue service included, so we are going to proceed with the rescue service, but you will have to pay a $49.00 engagement fee to begin the process. If we are successful and recover the data, you’ll pay a remaining balance of $650.00. If we can’t recover the data, you won’t pay anything further than the engagement fee. Seemed reasonable but have not used yet - which is good.

My son used this on his portable drive he dropped and they not only recovered the data but sent us an replacement drive with his data recovered. This was a really great deal!! So I bought it for my new Computer!

Not sure what I will get from this, it's not clear at all from the description but I bought it because anything is better than nothing.

I bought the 'Seagate 3 Year Recovery Plan' 6 months ago. Drive had problem few days ago. When I read the plan documentation their is no mention of Seagate. I spent 90 min in chat with Seagate support. Seagate will void their warranty if the HD is opened. And the plan documentation warns that the recovery effort might damage the HD and 'the plan' will not replace the HD. I phoned the # in the plan documentation and was told more or less what is stated above. But the person I spoke with told me they will provide me with a letter stating that professionals tried to recover the HD. Went on to say in the past Seagate would honor that letter and replace the HD. When I chatted with Seagate I was told they do sell a recovery service, but this is not their service. For sure if the HD is opened they will not replace it. My thought, this is false advertising on Amazon, and if you want a recovery plan buy it from the HD MFG. Although that's exactly what I thought I was buying!

This is a great idea, data recovery insurance. I will buy it with every new drive that I purchase, and I will replace all critical drives every two years. HOWEVER, the proof of it's value cannot be determined until I have to used the Data Recovery Service. Like any insurance, I hope I never have to use it, but if I do have to use it, I hope it goes well. If I use the service, I will update this reviews.
