What does this smell like?

It smells terrible and it does not work. My 3 year old Aussie just wanted to dig it up and has never used it. Do not waste your money.

So if this product does not work, what does?

My dog sort of chooses her consistent spot. Or I walk her out and point to where she should go. I don't think any sort of marking tool/scented post will work at least for my dog.

Will this attract other animals like raccons,coyotes etc ?
