Loved the writing style of Mary Shelley
“Life, although it may only be an accumulation of anguish, is dear to me, and I will defend it.” "I am alone and miserable. Only someone as ugly as I am could love me". Book Review : Frankenstein by Mary ShellNo. Of pages : 202 pages Genre : Gothic fiction , horror fiction , SciFi My rating : 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 ABOUT THE BOOK: This is a story about Victor Frankenstein , who in his desire of discovering the secrets of life , he tries to reanimate a new creature out of old dead body parts 😲 On one night in his apartment he brings this creature to life , but on looking at his creation he gets scared by the deathly monstrous look of it and leaves the place and the creature behind . And it's a horror and dismay to see the after effects of his creation and what he's gonna do to prevent this monster from causing damage or whether the damage already begun ?? For learning about it all read this marvelous classic 😉 MY REVIEW : I was mesmerized by the writing of Mary Shelley 🙌😲 She wrote about something this great and influential for future generations of writer . Her writing was way ahead of his time, she thought about things and took inspiration from the things around her is so captivating . I read about how the story was written and under what circumstances and the knowledge of this made me appreciate her work even more , she described Frankenstein as the modern 'Prometheus ' . The main idea throughout the story was to warn human beings about not meddling with laws of nature as causing so will lead to a certain tragedy , for instance " Learn from me, if not by my precepts, at least by my example, how dangerous is the acquirement of knowledge, and how much happier that man is who believes his native town to be his world, than he who aspires to become greater than his nature will allow" I found this book flawless and loved every bit of it 🙌🌟💚 so I recommend this book to all the classic enthusiasts 🙌🌟

Deep and intriguing
Title : Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus Author : Mary Shelley Genre : Gothic / Science Fiction Ratings : 🌟🌟🌟🌟☆ Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is a timeless classic, a compulsive imagination of the future and science which has a really great significance and can be linked to today's culture with a message that the extend to which man collects knowledge can ultimately backfire and fail to produce any good outcomes. Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist, gives life to an inanimate corpse, creates a monster unfortunately and terrified by his own creation, he abandon the fiend which ultimately lead to the destruction of his family and life. Unable to create another wretch, Victor refuses the monster's request to create a companion for him and eventually, Victor's dear ones become the victims of the fiend's revenge and his endless hatred to the entire mankind. This is a well crafted classic, rather poetic, and Shelley's insight about the human mind and emotions are truly wondrous. This is a story filled with hidden meanings, future insights, history and a heart-wrenching denouement, perfectly describing human's feelings and their innermost questions regarding life and death.

One of the best classics
Coming from one of the most authentic authoress of the British Romantic Age, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein delves into the repercussions of thirst for knowledge. The plot starts with an epistle of Walton to his sister describing his sea voyage and the story of rescued man called Victor Frankenstein whose knowledge of Natural Philosophy and chemistry makes him a creator of a "Daemon". He relates his story of making this creature who turned his life upside-down. As unbiased as it is, Mary Shelley also gets into the mind and experience of the creature. Though of eight feet, the creature is a new born child who was abandoned without any speech and knowledge of the world. The creature suffers in the hands of the country people, even from the people he has called "my protectors". When disregarded and ill treated by the people he loved, he follows his creator to make a deal with him. But when Frankenstein, out of human instinct, didn't abide to his demand, the creature goes mad with rage and starts killing the people Frankenstein loves. Towards the end when Frankenstein dies in Walton's ship, the creature, having no more purpose of life, goes away. From a reader's perspective, both the characters were well written and well developed. No one can be blamed for their endeavors. They have done what they thought would be the right thing to do. I have my sympathy for Victor Frankenstein but my heart cried for the creature. He has suffering having no fault of his own. The creature was more humane than humans. He has sympathy for everyone even though he has killed people out of sheer rage. The theme of Alienation is so powerfully depicted through the experience of the creature. Even though written 150 years before the concept of existentialism and absurdism were developed, this novel is concerned with mid-20th Century world. Involuntarily, Mary Shelley has prophesied the future of the succeeding generation. Undoubtedly this book has won over hearts all over the world and maintained its value and intensity for three centuries and will keep doing it for the centuries to come.

Enthralling Romantic Gothic Classic that is genre defining
Shelley’s novel is transgressive in its content, and more transgressive in its nature – written by a female (at age 19!) under a pseudonym to penetrate the public approval. This novel explores human emotions, good and bad, in response to the ‘Other’ in true gothic fashion. The grunting, green-faced, bolt-bearing monster depicted by film and media is a pale imitation of Shelley’s masterpiece – but the original is a 'blue-print' for all monster creations. Despite being a cautionary tale on how nature, which is essentially good, can be corrupted by ill treatment – contemporary depictions have departed from the original characterization of an extremely well-spoken monster with immense speed and grace. PLOT (4.5/5) An intelligent and ambitious young student indulges a moment of thoughtless scientific passion and creates life. Horrified at his creation, Victor Frankenstein shuns the creature and attempts to discard it from his life and thoughts. The creature, however, is lost in an unkind world and seeks affection, and upon rejection then seeks revenge. STUDENT NOTES (5/5) + Although many reviewers note The York Notes version usefulness at GCSE, I found in instrumental at helping me receive an A* at A-Level as well: a) The (character, theme and quotation) analysis is brilliant, clear and precise. b) The exam questions, key quotations and chapter summaries were invaluable c) The responses to the text, both modern and those from Shelley's contemporaries are invaluable (especially the feminist and psychoanalytical essays). CHARACTERS (5/5) + Both main characters are easy to empathise with despite being completely at heads – both Victor (the ambitious scientist who realises his overreach and attempts to redeem himself) and the monster (whose fragile psyche is birthed from rejection) STYLE (4/5) + The original, but nevertheless still one of the most remarkable science fiction stories ever written, its relevance persists today as scientific discovery journeys further than before into ethical ambiguity (GM food, AI, cloning) and discrimination still exists in all its forms. + Typically Romantic and beautifully descriptive prose, particularly regarding the natural world. - The book begins very slowly with excessive detail, and the epistolary form makes it hard to convey any sense of suspense. But if you persist despite this you will be drawn in to Shelley's world.
