Awesome :D
I have three Lamy Fountain Pens (2 AL-Stars and 1 Safari) which I bought both on Amazon and in a local office supply store. This converter fits all of them. It's great to be able to use whatever ink I like, and it's much cheaper than buying ink cartridges. The converter works extremely well, and I've never had any problems with mine after having them for almost a year. You just twist the red part to push the plunger down, then dip it in the ink and twist it back up. It's very simple and easy, and it's very fast as well. The only downside is that it does not hold as much ink as a real cartridge, since about half the length is taken up by the plunger/twist apparatus. My solution is to fill all three pens every night, so that if one runs out I always have a backup, but I also sometimes carry my ink bottle in my backpack. It's so simple and easy to refill, I can even refill it in class if I have to. I recommend this for anyone with a Lamy fountain pen. It will save you a lot of money in the long run, and having two means you can use different colors or have them in multiple pens. Sidenote: I use Noodler's black ink with mine, which you can buy here on Amazon. It works very well with Lamy pens, and its formula makes it permanent on paper but easy to wash off your hands if you spill.

Lamy LZ24 Coverter - Plain and Simple
I bought this converter thinking it would be much more practical and economical than having to constantly buy ink cartridge refills. I've never owned a fountain pen before, so after buying my Lamy Safari Charcoal Extra Fine Point Fountain Pen - L17EF , and reading many many reviews advocating the purchase of the converter, I went ahead and bought a couple (along with Noodler's Black Waterproof Fountain Pen Ink - Bulletproof ). I looked on YouTube for videos on instructions regarding how to fill the converters, and I found a few different methods. After watching the different videos, I decided on a method that I felt was the best. I'll just say that it was pretty darn simple! I'm happy to report that everything is working as advertised, and I couldn't be happier. The converter works as advertised, and it even appears to hold more ink than a replacement cartridge (or the same amount at the very least). I'm pretty happy with the decision to go with the converter. Some other bonuses with going with a converter is the variety of inks you have at your disposal and the long term economical practicality (cheaper in the long run, or even short run if you write a lot). Practicality, economy, variety, what's not to love?

Great first impressions...more later
Disclaimer: I've only used this product for a week, so I can't speak to its longevity. Easy to fill...I followed the advice of another review and filled it slowly, and I didn't have any issues pulling in air. Very easy to use and orders-of-magnitude cheaper than living off OEM ink cartridges. 1.5 yrs later...I still love it. My Lamy is my primary writing tool, so I go through a lot of ink. The Z24 has shown no bleeding around the flange, still crystal clear when empty (i.e., no residue left on cheap plastic), and no other performance issues that I can think of. Tips: - Fill it slowly - Once full, reverse one drop back out before clean the end with a napkin--this will keep you from accidentally dripping ink while en-route to your pen. (I've used it exclusively with a black Lamy ink pot, so can't attest to how it will perform with other brands.) (If you want to save money while opening yourself up to a range of high quality inks...stop reading and buy one). *updated Jan '15

The Perfect Converter for Your LAMY Fountain Pen
I'm a fountain pen virgin. Or, I was until I recently ordered the LAMY Al-Star pen, this refill converter, and Sailor Kiwa-Guro Pigmented Black Ink. I've spent the past several years buying packs of uni-ball black pens because the ink's thickness was just right. And I never had to shake them in order to make them work. They're solid pens. But as I thought about the number of pens I went through - and their cost - I thought it might make more sense to go the fountain pen route. So I hit up the old Google and - after perusing a few fountain pen-aficionado sites - finally decided on this converter to go with my pen. I've only filled this one time but I can already tell that it's going to be incredibly easy to use and clean in the future. It presses into my fountain pen easily and the red knob twists to pull the ink into it. It seems as though it's solidly made and it fits the LAMY Al-Star pen perfectly. I've been using this with my pen several days and I've had no issues at all with it. The ink is always ready when I begin to write. And from what I've read and seen, it's a cinch to clean. I can't recommend this converter enough for the beginning fountain pen aficionado. Get it. You won't be sorry.

I'd prefer another color option
Works well. I just wish the top wasn't red because I have a clear Lami Safari and I don't like the look of a bright red converter showing through

I wish it came it six-packs.
Okay, while I would really like to own a Montblanc special edition amazing fountain pen, I just like my money more than the pen. On the other hand, there are a lot of affordable pens. The problem with most of them is that they take cartridges, which limits your options. Let's face it, once you get bitten by the fountain pen bug, it's only going to get worse. So I did some research. And I found a great pen, the Lamy line. They are affordable. You can swap nibs. and for less than five bucks, you can rock some seriously amazing and beautiful inks in your Lamy pen.. I won't explain how to use it. Here is what you need to know: * Buy more than one. In fact buy one for every color you want to be able to use in your pen(s). You are going to want more, so buy them now and save on shipping. * Did I mention they are easy to use? This is not Grandpa's pen. It ain't rocket science. Can you get the twist-top off of a domestic beer? Then you can do this. * Buy some good inks. Top of the line are the Iroshizuku inks. My personal favorite is yama-budo, or wild grapes. Diamine and Sailor are lower cost options. * Get some paper. You are going to want to write. Moleskine or Rhodia notebooks are great. * Enjoy the tactile pleasure that only a great pen filled with great ink writing on great paper can bring. To paraphrase Tony the Tiger, "Its Great!"

Great Converter!!
I love my Lamy Refill Converter!! The description says that it is a Z24, but it's actually the Z28 replacement for the Z24: which is fine. It is the correct replacement. So far it is working very well. A whole lot better than using cartridges in my humble opinion. Make sure to place the converter in the grip section so that the little tabs on the converter reservoir fit inside the small cutouts for them in the grip section, as in the photo.

Actually a Z28, not a Z24.
Appears to be a genuine Lamy converter. Is definitely the Z28 with the nubs on the side to align and seat it in the Safari pen. This is more valuable IMO and turned out to be a great deal. I am very happy with the purchase. It arrived much quicker than was stated in the checkout and was packaged in bubble wrap in a small white package. Arrived undamaged and performs flawlessly with my Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo ink. No leaks at all and the piston operates smoothly. Very happy with the purchase.

Small capacity but works exceedingly well
The best fountain pen I ever had. I've used my Lamy Safari pen and converter combination for almost two years now. I'm a real user. I'm a doctor who works at a paper-based hospital and every day I use this pen a lot, to scribble a ton of stuff. Probably 20+ pages worth of stuff each day. Drug prescriptions, clinical notes, orders, requisitions. It writes absolutely amazingly marvellously. My handwriting, which was good to begin with, has improved significantly since I used this pen. Hand fatigue, which was a huge problem for me, is now gone. Nurses, clerks, patients and other doctors gush over my handwriting. The Lamy black ink is rich and flows smoothly. It never clogs my pen even when I leave it running dry for days. I have dropped this pen at least 100 times, sometimes on its nib. I have refilled it at least 100 times. It still works perfectly, and seems to get better with age. Highly, highly recommended. You will not regret your purchase. Trust me, I'm a real user. Don't listen to critics on YouTube who complain about this pen's nib "inconsistency" and talk about why other pens are better... These folks don't actually need to write anything and the only thing they use their pens for is to repeatedly draw bubbles and write the names of their pens with expensive ink on expensive pieces of paper. Listen to me, a real power user. The only problem with this pen is that, the converter has a ridiculously small capacity. It would run out of ink every 3 days which is a huge hassle. So, if you don't write a lot of stuff, the Lamy Safari and converter combination is perfect for you. If you write a ton of stuff, better get something with a bigger capacity, like a Twsbi Eco, which I also bought and like. The problem with that model is the twist cap, which is a chore to use when you need to use your pen 50 times a day. As for me, as long as this kit works, I'm not buying anything else, don't need to buy anything else.
