GROSCHE Borosilicate 3.3 Glass French Press Replacement Beaker, 34 oz

This glass replacement beaker fit my Bodum carafe perfectly. Measurements were accurate, and price point was good.

My previous Bodum glass cracked (my fault) and I was unable to find a Bodum replacement, so I decided to try Grosche. I am pleased with their product. It fits perfectly in my French press, and the glass is thicker than Bodum’s.

Well packed, quick delivery. This beaker is sturdier than my Bodum it replaces. I was hesitant to order after reading a few negative reviews, and it occurs to me that anyone who can't navigate the apparent fragility of glass- or gracefully accept blame, in general, might choose to avoid a French press (in the same manner in which someone who hates breaking a coffee cup when dropped might transition to a metal cup). The glass carafes (by every maker!) are not designed to be used like a drinking glass or a vase. There is a flat thin bottom which is the same width as sides. That's exactly why there is a framework, to protect and serve. I have broken a few due to stupidity. Do not put in dishwasher. Do not bump or tap, absentmindedly especially if it is not in the frame. Don't drop a few forks or spoons in while waiting to wash the dishes. No extreme heat to cold temperature changes, even. The corners are especially vulnerable, obviously, when out of the frame. I often wash the press without taking out the beaker, for safety. Treated with care, these beakers (and I'm tempted to say ALL provided by French press makers) will last indefinitely. (I suggest decanting coffee from any French press into a themos to maintain heat and reduce excess steeping.) I can give this product a highest rating on the same day as arriving and after just one use, right now, because I can appreciate exactly what it is. If I break it, I will know where to place the blame ... me.

Fits well the 34 oz coffee press. Kind of expensive for a glass beaker.

This was a perfect fit for my Sept 2023 Oxo press with grounds lifter, as well as my much older Oxo grounds lifter press that has oval cutouts. See first two pictures. It seems people were having trouble with getting replacement carafes that fit the previous-generation Grounds-lifter Oxo French Press that has the holes in the frame that are rectangular and smaller, exposing less glass. I don't really know about that one because it's not the one I have. It's the 3rd picture. This carafe MAY or MAY NOT fit. I love the grounds lifter and it works well for me so it's worth it to replace the carafe every so often, e.g., measured in YEARS, not weeks. As far as the carafe itself, it seems to be well-made, fits well, but I won't really know its durability until I've used it a bunch of times and it has survived and thrived without breaking or cracking. The ones that this fits, based on my personal firsthand experience, are the Grounds lifter Oxo French Press with the LARGER (wider) rectangular cutouts, the model that was the current model on Amazon as of Sept. 2023, and a much older model that has smaller OVAL-ended cutouts in the frame. Again, see the first two pics. The just-prior Oxo model had smaller (narrower) rectangular cutouts and SOME people said this carafe, and other "universal" carafe models didn't fit properly in the frame. It does seem that Oxo changes their models and specs over time. It also looks like Oxo has gotten out of the business of "genuine Oxo replacement carafes", out of stock everywhere, so a replacement carafe like this is the only game in town if your Oxo grounds-lifter carafe is broken. May you be as fortunate as me and have this carafe model perfectly fit your Oxo frame. :)

It fits most presses. Good value.

I rarely take the time to write reviews but this replacement carafe is so far superior to the original that my Bodum “8-cup” French press came with, that it deserves a review. The glass is nearly twice as thick as the carafe my French press came with (which broke during normal use). With this one, I can put it in the dishwasher without fearing it will easily shatter and put it in & out of the French press frame without being utterly painstaking and anxious. Great product. Also I like that it’s made in Canada.

I bought it to replace my cracked Bodum beaker. I fit perfectly and is very good quality.

Perfect fit for my "The Original French Press Bodum". Very quick delivery. Delighted.

Fits my Bodum Cafetiere 8 cup / 1 litre perfectly! The glass seems solid. Differences from the original Bodum glass: glass seems thicker, and the beak has a split in the middle, presumably for better pouring. (The Bodum does tend to drip)
