Borosilicate 3.3 Glass French Press Replacement Beaker, 34 oz

A good, solid replacement for the carafe I broke on my Bodum french press. It's slightly shorter than the original, but still fits well.

I broke the beeker in my friends Bodum. French press. Bodum was out of stick so I bought this replacement . It fits perfectly and she tells me it works perfectly fine too. She wouldn't have known the difference

This glass replacement beaker fit my Bodum carafe perfectly. Measurements were accurate, and price point was good.

We have loved our basic Bodum press for years - it's all we use for making coffee, and it's done an outstanding job. But when we had a slight slip of the hand while washing it in the sink, we were surprised at how easily it broke - and even more surprised at how much it would cost to replace it. The majority of the price of a whole new unit seemed ridiculous for just one part of it. So we decided to give this much less expensive option a try, and over the last few weeks of owning it, we've been glad we did - it has worked perfectly. All the Bodum parts (handle with ring, lid, press mechanism) fit well and work just as they did on the old beaker. This one appears to be about the same thickness as the old one - that is, not very thick - and is very close to the same shape, with a slightly more squared-off bottom edge (compared to the Bodum's more rounded bottom edge) being the only real difference. Apart from that purely cosmetic difference, everything has worked just the same as before, and we never think about it being a different beaker - we're using it just as we always have, with no adjustments or compromises. UPDATE, 7/14/2015 - A year and a half later, this is still going strong and working great. No issues.

My previous Bodum glass cracked (my fault) and I was unable to find a Bodum replacement, so I decided to try Grosche. I am pleased with their product. It fits perfectly in my French press, and the glass is thicker than Bodum’s.

Well packed, quick delivery. This beaker is sturdier than my Bodum it replaces. I was hesitant to order after reading a few negative reviews, and it occurs to me that anyone who can't navigate the apparent fragility of glass- or gracefully accept blame, in general, might choose to avoid a French press (in the same manner in which someone who hates breaking a coffee cup when dropped might transition to a metal cup). The glass carafes (by every maker!) are not designed to be used like a drinking glass or a vase. There is a flat thin bottom which is the same width as sides. That's exactly why there is a framework, to protect and serve. I have broken a few due to stupidity. Do not put in dishwasher. Do not bump or tap, absentmindedly especially if it is not in the frame. Don't drop a few forks or spoons in while waiting to wash the dishes. No extreme heat to cold temperature changes, even. The corners are especially vulnerable, obviously, when out of the frame. I often wash the press without taking out the beaker, for safety. Treated with care, these beakers (and I'm tempted to say ALL provided by French press makers) will last indefinitely. (I suggest decanting coffee from any French press into a themos to maintain heat and reduce excess steeping.) I can give this product a highest rating on the same day as arriving and after just one use, right now, because I can appreciate exactly what it is. If I break it, I will know where to place the blame ... me.

I am delighted with this replacement French Press beaker. It fits my Bodum Chambord 1 litre French Press, perfectly, and at a fraction of the cost of a Bodum replacement beaker, which is around £12-15. A real bargain.

Fits my Bodum Cafetiere 8 cup / 1 litre perfectly! The glass seems solid. Differences from the original Bodum glass: glass seems thicker, and the beak has a split in the middle, presumably for better pouring. (The Bodum does tend to drip)
