Excellent DIY project... don’t pay the dealer for a new key case!
I can’t believe I was able to change out the key and key case without much difficulty... coming from a 55+ female, if I can do it, so can you! I would like to give a shoutout to “FasterAutoKey” on YouTube for an excellent video tutorial. The most difficult part aspect of changing out the electrical components was removing the transformer chip. Just as directed, I used a hair drier and applied heat to back of the case behind the chip and it popped right out using a tiny screw driver. Now I have a brand new looking VW key case. FYI: many years ago when the red panic button fell off, the dealer wanted to charge me $300+ for a new key with programming. By doing it myself I paid less than $10 including battery replacement! I highly recommend giving this product a try!

WORKS GREAT!
We have a 2008 Volkswagen EOS Komfort and these cases work GREAT as long as you use a part from the OLD case! The only way I could get the switch blade to work smoothly was to use the front part of the OLD case (the part with the hole in it) along with the old key to put in the NEW case. The back was fine I just had to use the FRONT part.I think the factor key part is thicker than the new case and it sticks. The electronics fit PERFECT!I've attached a photo showing the part I had to use from the OLD case.

Good quality, could use a better emblem
Surprisingly good quality fob casing, it does deter a little from OEM spec in terms of internal design but it's 100% unnoticeable once assembled. My only suggestion is to make the rubber text bold like it is on OEM fobs, I could see the panic button rubbing smooth very easily. The only thing I had distaste for is the replacement emblem, it's the correct design but doesn't have the thick clear resin over it like the OEM emblem does. This is the dead giveaway that it isn't a factory fob and looks a little weird.(Also, the replacement emblem comes inside the fob itself. If you think you didn't get one, check inside the fob first)

Perfect replacement
Perfect replacement for my 2002 Beetle turbo s. The finish is different than oem but the dimensions are the same so the oem covers will still fit. Be careful when taking your old key apart, the replacements rfid compartment is made a little different. Would be a good idea to pull the cotton off the head of a qtip and put it in the rfid hole to keep it from falling out when you pull it apart to change battery.

Doesn't replace the key for 2012 Jetta Sportwagen
Unfortunately this key does NOT work to swap the insides over from an OEM key for a 2012 VW Jetta Sportwagen. It looks the same on the outside, however the inside is completely different and it will NOT fit the circuit board from an OEM key. So if you are looking to buy this to swap the insides over from an original key, don't do it. I only found this out after I took apart my original key and was ready to swap the circuit board over and saw that it was never going to fit.

It’s okay, but not great
The fast shipping and delivery was awesome. The case itself looks nice and the included VW logo for the back is very nice. Unfortunately then case seems to be a little off when it comes to replicating the factory key fob. The case makes the metal key shank stick when opening and it’s not as smooth as it should be. For less than $10 bucks it’s a deal but I will probably just buy a factory case or a different brand soon.

Quick customer service!
So I ordered one of these keys and the emblem was missing, I reached out to the customer service and they had me purchase another key and after receiving it they refunded me the full price. The product is pretty decent and much better than my old workout key. Thankful for the quick customer service and resolving the issue!

It worked on my old VW Jetta key
The key ring loop part of my key was broken off so it was really hard to keep track of my key. I was able to remove that broken off half of my key and put the new top half in its place in about 5 minutes and a little muscle. Now my old key works fine and the loop allows me to put it on the key ring with my house key.
