Excellent Instrument for the Price and Beautiful Too!
Excellent fit and finish, along with a great sound and playability. Maybe I got lucky but mine arrived perfectly set up and with great intonation. Certainly a nice instrument for the price. The only cheap looking about it to me (though not flawed) was the light, reddish brown fretboard that I assumed was Richlite or some other synthetic material. But came to find out that it is an actual wood called Jatobรก or Brazilian Redwood. The one thing I would change is a push-in friction fit whammy bar like on my way more expensive Charvel MJ San Dimas instead of the screw-in one on the Ibanez but then again vintage Strats and their reissues have the same screw-in whammy. bars. Overall I am very impressed with my purchase and would highly recommend it for a beginner's guitar or for someone who would prefer to travel or gig with something cheaper than their uber-expensive guitars.

Shread ready without the strings breaking
I have owned this guitar for a little over three months now, Iโve been writing my own tracks (which are very intense), and to my surprise this guitar is practically immortal, I shread this guitar every day and the strings still hold up like itโs brand new from day 1. Very beautiful, I highly recommend this guitar for new players as well, I was able to kind of teach myself with this guitar, the sound quality is very good. I have no bad opinion about it, the price is also priced just right for this amazing product!

Best Electric for the Money
I did a lot of research prior to buying this guitar. I've played guitar for 32 years and really wanted an inexpensive guitar that sounds good clean but can throw down some grit for rock and blues. I'm a Les Paul guy normally and wanted to mix things up. It arrived and I was super nervous because it sat in my unheated mail room of my place for some time and it was 18 degrees today. I brought it in and gave it an hour in the box to warm up prior to opening it up. It came well packed in a double box. It has a perfect set up on it straight out of the box which surprised me. I don't know if they do a set up at the factory or the third party that ships it does a set up prior to shipping it but it is perfect!!! It was also nearly in tune, which is unusual for a shipped guitar. This thing is really closer to a $400 to $500 guitar than $200 when looking at the features. Some things that really sold me. The tuning pegs are super smooth, much better than other guitars in the same price range. The neck isn't finished on the back and is sanded silky smooth. This makes it super smooth and fast when playing. Most other guitars in the price range spray a finish on the entire neck and when you are playing and your hands get hot your fingers start to stick. The pickups are far superior to anything you may find in any other $200 guitar (note they are not going to be as awesome as a $1000 guitar and up but I bet you could buy a $500 guitar with worse pickups) The tremolo is far better than anything else on the market for a guitar in the same price range. Most other guitars have thin white metal tremolos with thin springs that lose their spring quickly. Very Simple Controls. The 5 way switch covers the bridge pickups, the middle and one bridge pickup, the middle pickup alone, the middle and one neck pickups, and both neck pickups. The knobs are gain and level and operate on all pickups selected. Right away it was really easy to get clean tones and a nice crunch with little fiddling. Bottom line if you are buying your first electric guitar, a back up instrument, or something to just mess around with then this is the guitar for you!!! Well done Ibanez!

Nice shredder at a bargain price.
Ibanez is known for their fast, slick, slim profile necks, and the GIO doesn't disappoint. Intonation was spot-on from the factory, and only needed a quick tweak to eliminate a tiny fret buzz on one string. If you've never tried your own setup, watch a few vids before returning it. It takes a little practice but it's easy once you finally get how to do it. The ceramic H-S-H pickups are blistering hot, so know that going in. The single coil middle gives a clear articulate punch in contrast to the aggressive neck and bridge humbuckers, offering good tonal options on a $250 guitar. The 5-way selector switch feels solid and reliable. No rough frets. A lot of guitar for the price, good value. Recommended.

Probably the best entry level guitar on the market
Pros: An ergonomic cut out strat style shape. My favorite guitar shape for playability as sometimes I like to practice sitting down. It feels good to sit and have the guitar body curvature fit in shape to your leg and body. Also the double cutout makes upper frets easy. An amazing thin modern C-shape neck. I love this neck profile. A light and comfortable weight. For example: I have a friend that has a Les Paul standard that weighs 11 pounds. I used it before and when playing for long periods of time it begins to be uncomfortable. This Ibanez is nearly half that weight. The bridge pickup is bright, punchy, I love it! One of my fave tones after only a few days. Neck was flat. Action was a little highe out of the box, I had to lower the saddles but it's got really good action. No fret buzz. It feels great to play on this neck. Cons: The single coil middle pickup sucks. It's got that stratocaster style quack but worse. I just use the neck and bridge, and avoid it entirely (even when split with the neck and bridge). Fret edges are a little scratchy. The wood on the fretboard is dry, but a little lemon oil fixed it instantly. The strings it came with are rubbish. But that's always to be expected. I immediately weswitched it to some fresh Ernie Ball super slinky's and it's much better. Is it a perfect guitar? No... No such thing exists. But the small problems it has are solvable. A little change of strings, a little fret polish, a touch of lemon oil on the fretboard, a little adjustment of the saddle and it plays incredibly well. I may switch out the middle and neck pickups, that middle pickup would have been better not existing... However, I love the bridge which has a very nice bright sound clean and a very punchy and crunchy grunge sound with distortion. However after a little setup, the playability is amazing. I love this neck, it is thin, and comfortable. I love the weight, it's a light guitar. I love the cuts and the contours. That's what is most important to me, the playability. The neck is perfect too, no need to touch the truss rod. I was surprised how good the fretwork was with this, the frets are level, and aside from slightly unsmooth edges they feel good. But you know the best part: it's cheap. Because let's be completely honest most musicians don't get paid much (unless you are lucky). You are playing covers in bars and local joints sometimes making nothing but tips. Playing guitar is a hobby that costs a lot of both time and money. I don't have the luxury to buy a 5,000 guitar.

Great quality at a better price
Bought this as my sonโs first electric guitar, and it has not disappointed. Keeps tune like a higher end guitar, and the sound quality matches as well. Would recommend for advanced or beginner

A great guitar for the price
I just took delivery of the Ibanez GRX 6 guitar in transparent violet sunburst. This is my third venture into less expensive but highly rated guitar brands. I now own over 20 assorted. Most are upline and from Martin, Gretsch, Gibson, Fender, and Epiphone. This guitar plays and sounds as well as my Fender Telecaster. Delivery was two days earlier than promised. Box arrived in pristine condition. Set up was almost in tune. All strings tuned down 1/2 pitch from standard. Took about a minute to get it up and running. Finish is flawless, and it plays nice up and down all the frets. The HSH pickup setup is great. I get five distinct voices and all are great. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a real looker and player. Plays as well as any guitar costing $700 +. This was on sale and in stock just in time for the Holidays. The tuners are smooth as glass, and the OEM strings are even good. I will leave the OEM strings on for a month or so.

Bella!

Nice Guitar
Came with the setup quite good. The color blue looks very good and the pickups seem strong. Although the fret board's edges is slightly rough, overall good. The neck is straight and thin, which is good for my small hands. I had it only for about for a few weeks. It stays in tune. Sounds good using my Fender amp. It is a step up from my beginner's Yamaha.

Great starter guitar
My daughter (14 and very msuical) has this guitar and absolutely loves it. I am no guitar expert but it looks good, sounds good and has been heavily used. We are delighted with it.

Absolute Beast
The Ibanez GIO (GRX70QATRB) is an absolute beast!! I purchased the "Transparent Violet Sunburst" and she is a beauty. Wasn't in tune when received but that's no matter as I always change strings on every new guitar. Other than that, everything was as described and the finish was flawless! I have several axes but anytime people stop by they are always drawn to her and comment how beautiful she is! Sounds amazing even for their "lower end" pick ups and I doubt I'll change them cause I really dig the sound. If you're thinking on grabbing one, just do it! They are priced amazing for the quality you get and worth buying even if you want to throw a few hundred into upgrades! With the Ibanez GIO you have the perfect foundation to make your dream guitar or just rock out as is!! I have zero regrets on this purchase!
