The handle melts because it’s plastic
If I could give it 0 stars I would!! This tea kettle should not even be sold as is!! I was so excited to use it for the first time since it looked so beautiful but I quickly learned the handle is made of plastic when it melted into my oven mitt on the first use. ON THE FIRST USE. Insane!! I could’ve been seriously hurt if I didn’t have the foresight of using an oven mitt. Also the carcinogens in the air from the melting plastic was a nice touch. I can’t believe the nightmare an evening of tea making turned into.

Thick walled gorgeous enamel pot. Retains heat well for that 2nd cup. A large size for those canning days and you can do it with something beautiful.
