I have no idea, but I wouldn't buy it again. The connection melted the first time I used it to check a kiln temp

No, it cannot go higher than 1300C (2300F).

Can you trim the rod to fit in a smaller wall

Perhaps, but if you don’t have access to a shorter rod, the better solution would be to fit your pyrometer so that it extends 3 inches into the mid-most point of your kiln and let any extra stick out on the outside. If you’re worried about it being in the way, I’d set it so that it ‘hangs out’ in the direction a least traffic and fabricate a simple ‘bumper guard’ for it. Depending on the configuration of your gear, you might be able to clip off extra length on the rods, but I do not personally know how that might affect electrical resistance and the calibration of your instrument, so wouldn’t go that route myself unless I had multiples and could compare reading from both sets.
