KOHLER 22169-G-CP Forté® Three-function showerhead, 1.75 GPM, Full Coverage, Pulsating Massage, Silk Spray, Corrosion Resistant, Polished Chrome

After more than two years using this 1.75 GPM showerhead (K-22169-G-CP) after switching from a ~5.0 GPM head (K-7374), I'm impressed and happy with the purchase. A home water usage audit showed we had high water usage and showers were a culprit. Of course we loved the ca. 2002 Kohler 5 GPM showerhead (product spec says 2.5 GPM but I measured it at close to 5, so assume it's an older solid brass model or a flow restrictor was removed). It had high water pressure, fast cleaning, and a fast hot shower felt great to warm up quickly. So giving up all that for a lower flow head felt like a loss. Moreover, California now has a 1.75 GPM standard so Amazon wouldn't let me buy the 2.5 model here. Fortunately, this Forte 1.75 GPM model has been great. It obviously doesn't have the same pressure, but it washes well. It's at least as good as another 2.5 GPM ca. 2012 design and far better than the early low-flow heads in the 90s. The misty spray is kind of a neat trick--I crank up the water temperature, and it heats up the shower stall faster and steamy, without scalding. That is great for warming up. Then I switch to the regular/wide setting for the regular routine. The massage setting seems like a feature for a product sheet and as I expected, it's not too useful. But given this is about 1/3 of the old flow I don't feel guilty about linger a bit longer. Build quality is fine. The chrome plastic head still looks great and the setting knob still rotates with one finger and clicks just like new. Kept the old head in case the low flow head was not going to cut it but after the first few days I forgot about it.

I absolutely love this new Kohler Forte showerhead! It has completely transformed our daily routine into a luxurious experience. The 'Silk' spray setting is incredibly soft and enveloping—perfect for a romantic shower with my boyfriend. It feels like a warm, gentle mist that covers us both completely. We also love switching to the full coverage for a powerful rinse, and the polished chrome looks stunning in our bathroom. It’s definitely brought a new, intimate vibe to our mornings. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add a little luxury and romance to their shower!

With a glowing review in the New York Times Wirecutter section and fancy marketing terms from Kohler, you would believe that this showerhead can turn a trickle into a Niagara Falls of luxury. Not quite, but it is a step up from the WaterPik Shower Massage showerhead it replaced and saves as much water as that one did. The introduction of air is supposed to create “fatter“ water droplets. The rain setting is nice and is helped by the large showerhead, which means that a pleasant rain falls over a wide area. The more focused, pulsing setting is not worth the trouble. It’s almost impossible to feel any massage sensation. The innermost setting, called “silk“ is a nice rinse for hair and face, but the fine droplets dispersed can create colder water on the fringes of the spray. It’s an attractive showerhead and it looks like a quality unit when installed. Some people seem put off by the amount of plastic in it, but it’s not likely to take much abuse in use, and it will not corrode the way a metal unit might. All in all, a good purchase, but I’d say it’s worth about $10-$15 less than its list price.

After reading all of the reviews, I decided to have a friend remove the water restrictor for me b/c I didn't want weak water pressure for such a cool new showerhead. I should've tried it with the restrictor before I had it removed though because WOW! The water pressure is way too much without it. I bet if I had just left it alone it would've been perfect. That being said, I've already bought this same showerhead AGAIN and will try to sell the one I tampered with on fb marketplace with a disclaimer (LOL) to try to get some money back. IDK much about stuff like this - just a single mom trying to do stuff on my own. . . This showerhead is AWESOME though. I've only used it once (with the restrictor out) and the water flow was so powerful it was like my shower was connected to a fire hydrant. TLDR: No need to remove the water restrictor!!!! Excited to get my new one :) Update: Installed the new one AS IS and it makes a HUGE difference. The water pressure is alright. Kinda wish it was a little stronger though - somewhere in between the pressure of what I have now and what it was when that water restrictor piece was removed. That being said - keeping this one! Still satisfied with the purchase :)

I was worried about the diameter of this head - but the spray is even, contained, and easy to control. Compared to the much smaller diameter showerhead that came with the house, this thing is comfortable, allows us to rinse well, and doesn't scatter water all over the place. The diameter is just fine. I thought I might regret not getting the higher flow head - but I'd rather save water anyway. It does feel "plasticky" but it installed in a few seconds, and the only oddity is it "fills" up with water before spraying properly. But it does the job it is supposed to do, so I suppose the price is fair.

I ordered this shower head to replace our old one and I love it! It has 3 different settings and I enjoy them all! The first setting has a wide pattern of spray that I like and the second I like on my sore muscles because it targets the spot really well and the third I just enjoy the fine mist that sprays out, it's a different sensation than I usually feel in a shower spray. It's worth the money, it's easy to install and it looks really nice.

Be aware that with 1.75 GPM water flow the pressure of water this shower head provides is unsatisfactory. Product looks very nice but contains a large amount of plastic, the 3 settings are a nice touch but with poor water flow disappointing. There are videos on how to remove water flow restrictor, I might try this but for the price paid I would have expected much better from Kohler. There are much cheaper shower heads out there that perform much better than the K-22169-G-CP Forte. Would not recommend this model.

This shower head lived up to its reviews which were all excellent. It has three settings and that is just right to get the stream of water one needs. The first setting is like a firehose and comes out the center. This is good for rinsing shampoo out of thick hair. The second setting is a ring of orifices surrounding the center and gives a strong spray that would be good for getting off soap. The third setting is many small orifices that give a nice gentle and wide spray which is where I leave the setting. All other settings are off when one is in use. This shower head is well worth the money and is my preferred shower head in the house.

I am very happy with this shower head and all three variations of water strength work perfectly and I will be using all of them. I particularly like the gentle mist spa feel of the third setting. I can fully recommend this product.

I sense it will be lighter in weight than the brass one it will replace, but that might be okay. Can't wait. (Earlier comment) Okay, just used it for the first time, and here is my review. It is light in weight, and wider than I thought, neither of those are necessarily negatives. And it IS a showerhead, not a "Hydrorail(R)-R Beam Bath/Shower Column." I sent amazon a message last week to that effect but they have not corrected the description above (Canadian site only). I quite like it in use and point out that Wirecutter recently rated this as their favourite showerhead. My previous one had a narrow, somewhat strong spray. This one has a wide spray, gentle and rainlike, in the setting of the 3 outside concentric circles. It covers the body well. The narrower more focused somewhat pulsating stream is better for rinsing hair. The third setting is softer and steamier and feels just a bit cooler as it is air-infused. I recommend this purchase and hope the the head is long-lived. Only time will tell.

Its nice, but quite basic. Pricey but made of metal , not plastic.
