Attack on Eren!
Oh boy we’re already at the 30th chapter are we? Time flys by when having fun so let’s dig into this latest official American release of AoT. *SPOILERS* To start off, this new chapter continues off from the previous which ended with Zekes Beast Titan getting shot by the combo team of Magath and the Cart Titan. Everything runs off the track from here leading us to a climax setting up the “biggest” (no pun intended) stakes so far in the manga. Some important that I should note that transpired in this chapter is, Zekes scream turning the military that drank Zeke special wine of spine into Titans, Falco turning into a Titan while also eating the Jaws Titan, and Eren gaining control of the Founding Titan over some memory high jinks with his good ol’ brother Zeke. There’s still over things that happen but I don’t want to spoil everything! Now let’s talk objectively here and I’ll begin with the writing. Overall, the writing is pretty good. At least in this chapter, there’s nothing I can really note as a plot whole big enough to destroy the story though there is possibly some minor holes. The dialog plays out well but there are some sentences that I feel could be reworked better which is either on the Authors shoulders or the translators. Not a big issue, more so a nit pick on my part. Finally the art and I will say it is such a well done piece of art. The use of paneling creates a sense of direction moving you along while the detailing is some of the best that manga has ever exhibited. There still are some issues such as continuity errors. Last chapter Eren had his legs chopped off by the Jaws Titan and let’s say his pants became shorts there but when Eren gets out of his Titan towards the end, his shorts are back to pants. This is small stuff like this that isn’t much of a issue, but it is still a flaw that should be pointed out. Overall, a very strong Chapter and sets up the endgame of the series. Now let’s keep our fingers crossed if the quality that this chapter has is continued towards the end unlike a certain HBO fantasy series.

PEAK FICTION
Pros: 1. We learn about Ymir Fritz 2. We get to learn more about Zeke and Eren's characters 3. Great dialogue!!! 4. The story progresses in a very interesting way 5. BEAUTIFUL art!! PATHS 6. Some emotional scenes (not cheesy at all in my opinion) Cons: 1. If you've read up to volume 29, there is LITERALLY NO REASON TO NOT BUY THIS. DO WHATEVER YOU MUST. SCROUNGE UP ALL OF YOUR REMAINING MONEY. FIND SOME WAY TO LEGALLY OBTAIN THIS VOLUME. IT IS EXCELLENT. I WISH I COULD FORGET ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE TO SO I COULD EXPERIENCE iT AGAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME. 5/5 - Beautifully written masterpiece. TL;DR - Buy it now. Before you read this, prepare yourself to read peak fiction.

Ok. Maybe this is getting better?
The fighting continues. The titans are at it. Pixas and the rest of the wine drinkers show up and engage. Things aren’t going well for the Yeagerists so Zeke only has one option. Things get really crazy and a surprising thing happens to Eren. The one really good thing of this issue is we get the backstories to the plan, the Titans and the fabled Ymir. A nice “fill in the blanks” involving what Grisha did before things fell apart. At the end we get to see the greatest fear realized.

More intimate, exciting and horrifying than ever!
The beginning of the end starts in this volume. Attack on Titan has had a lot of twists and turns, and this volume is meant to shed light on the mysteries of the past and future. There are some uniquely terrifying reveals regarding the central character of the series, and a monumental development that changes everything. The strength of Hajime Isayama's characters are on display again, with his signature focus on their interpersonal relationships - there is a lot of conflict, and this volume seems to be leading towards some very interesting allegiances changing. Eren, who has taken on an entirely different role since the previous half of the series, is the big player in this volume. It delves into his personality and beliefs deeper than any previous volume. We also get some great character development from Zeke Yeager, the villainous Beast Titan. In conclusion, this volume is the one where the series takes its last major step in the direction of ending the saga, and is as intimate, exciting and more horrifying than ever.

Overall really good
It came in really good condition! Overall, the book is amazing! One thing I kodansha to change now is the amount of days the books release! But other than that, the book itself is a whole 100/10. I really enjoyed the whole backstory of Ymir and what eren wanted to do to the world. Ive collected all of the manga 1-30 and now I Can’t wait for 31!!
