Perfect remote for seniors with cognitive or eyesight issues
We bought this for my wife's mother who is in early stages of dementia and gets easily confused. The Spectrum set top box remote has about 800 buttons on it (ok, probably more like 50), but they're all very small and most aren't needed for daily viewing. This remote was perfect. It has just the volume, channel, and power buttons, and it was programmable to her TV (TCL with Roku built in) and her Spectrum set top box. There was even an option to have the power button only turn off the TV rather than both the TV and the set top box, which is a nice feature, since turning off both can cause the infamous "sync" issue if they move the remote during the power-on/off sequence for multiple devices. The only nit I had was in the programming. I tried all the codes for the TCL/Roku TV and none worked initially. Later I discovered that after putting it in programming mode, I was pressing the 4 code digits too quickly in sequence. I had to wait until each one made the light blink. Once I slowed down and paused for a second between each number press, the code worked properly. I set it up so the volume button works with the TV and the channel button works with the set top box. It's going to be great for her since she has historically had difficulty with her TV remote due to her easy confusion and her degrading eyesight. The designer(s) did a great job with this -- hiding the keypad so it's out of sight for programming only, and keeping only the basic buttons visible. Also, the volume and channel buttons being different colors just adds to the ease of remembering which color goes with which function, especially as eyesight fades. The instructions were also clear and well written, which is uncommon these days. I also saw a video demonstrating how to program it, and it was concise and easy to follow. This is the kind of device I would design if I wanted to create my own custom remote for someone with my mother-in-law's condition. Thank you for creating it. The price is a bit higher than some other "senior" remotes on Amazon, but the others had extraneous buttons and didn't appear to be as easy to program for multiple devices, or used the same color for all the buttons. Or the buttons were smaller and closer together, making it easier to mis-press. I think this is the "best-of-breed" in this arena, and so I decided to pay the premium price as I was confident it would "just work" the way I expected it to... and it did. I would highly recommend spending the few extra dollars to get this remote over less expensive knock offs. You do get what you pay for in this case, and it's worth it.

Awesome!!!
Awesome awesome remote! I had a little problem setting it up but their customer service team was amazing! The first person couldn’t help me but she put me in contact with someone else. Well that “someone else” got it working with one try! I even programmed her favorite channels! Pressing the buttons is easy too. My mother use to hold the button too long on the regular remote but she is pressing these fine!! She use to blast the tv because she didn’t know to lower it but this remote is so much easier.

Hisense U7 & Spectrum Cable
AMAZING for seniors. I don't write reviews but this is such an amazing solution for seniors struggling with modern remotes. Parents are in mid 80s and early 90s and just moved to an ALF which required changing their TV and cable tv service. They could not remember how to use the new remotes and basically couldn't watch TV no matter how much we coached them, taped over remote buttons, etc. This remote was extremely easy to program for their new Hisense U7 tv and Spectrum cable box. We programed in the 20 channels (25 max I think) they watch the most and it has been life changing for them. It turns on and off both devices and the up/down channel button runs through their programed channels - so very simple. They can't accidentally hit a wrong button. We took away the "real" remotes. It has been several days with No Problems at all. They are able to watch TV again without problems. The greatest remote ever for seniors struggling with our modern overly complicated remotes. I am buying a second remote to have on hand just in case we ever need it.

Works great, but fit and finish is not
I purchased this for my 91 yoa Father (Vascular Dementia) who was having significant difficulties with the Cable remote and all of its buttons. Pros: This remote control programmed easily (good instructions and code list) for his TV as well as his cable box. It's really simplified (and provided usability) to allow him to watch TV. Cons: The location where the batteries go (not included) is not sized correctly, resulting in an obvious bulge and the battery door doesn't fit correctly. It still snaps shut, but there is a clear gap in the remote batter compartment. The latch for the battery compartment has a spot for a screw to secure it, but no screw was included. I'll take a photo tomorrow of the issue. Great Idea. It works well, but the fit and finish leaves something to be desired. I had to reseat the batteries today to get it to work again - because the battery door bulges and no screw supplied to secure it.

Easy to use
Easy to initiate and sync. 90+ year old grandfather was having trouble with his direct TV remote and could work the smaller buttons. Although he can’t pull up the guide, he can perform the basic functions now. He’s a much happier guy now :) great product.

Helps my 93-year-old mother-in-law.
Bought this for my 93-year-old mother-in-law. She has a smart TV and Cox Contour service, and both of them come with a large remote with a gazillion buttons. She only needs channel up/down and volume up/down, which she had a hard time finding on her original remotes. And she was always pressing the wrong button, changing something that kept it from working. So I would need to make a trip out to push the right button, usually the input, to get her TV back. We even tried putting tape over the buttons she did not need to press—it did not help. Since I installed the Big Button remote, we have not had a problem. It provides all the functions she needs, was compatible with her current provider (Cox Contour), and installation was a snap. All I had to do was punch in the code for Cox and the TV brand, and she was up and running. It was a great value when you factor in my time and gas to make the trip, and she no longer has to wait a day or two for me to come fix her old remote.

Works after programming, but then it randomly adds non-programmed channels
First of all, some background... I've been in computers and programming for almost 40 years. And, I've used programmable remotes since 1986. My wife has Alzheimer's and simply can't master using the standard Xfinity remote to control our kitchen Vizio TV and Xfinity HD STB. She even has problems knowing which red button on the Xfinity remote to turn on and off the TV and paired STB. The red power button on the Xfinity remote says "All On" to control the TV and STB, and it confuses her to use the button to turn the two devices off! I thought the Flipper remote would be the answer, but unfortunately, it appears it is not the case. These comments are for the Fipper version we have: V8. The Flipper controls the Vizio TV and Xfiinity RNG110 HD STB as far as on/off, volume, channels, and mute - the initial pairing went very well. I only programmed 5 channels for her into the Favorites, as she only regularly watches these 5 channels and I wanted to make it easy for her to scroll through the least number of channels, otherwise she would become very confused. The problem with the Flipper is two-fold: 1). You have to hold the up or down channel buttons for a longer than normal time until the channel appears, wheres most remotes you only have to "click" (or, momentarily push) the up and down channel or volume buttons. But with the Flipper, if you simply "click" or momentarily push either of the up or down channel buttons, a random and non-programmed channel appears. All of our HD channels on our Comcast Xfinity cable system have three digits, such as her most favorite channel MeTV (Channel 231 on our system), and all were successfully programmed into the Favorites. It's almost as if the CPUs scanning speed for the up/down channels buttons is too slow., and 2). Programming the 5 channels into Favorites was non-eventful, but after setting them into memory, and locking the programming, you can hold the up/down channel buttons until the next channel appears, but sometimes it's a channel that was never programmed into Favorites. Of course, as previously mentioned, if you only momentarily push (or, "click") either the up or down channel buttons a random and non-programmed channels appear. I've gone through all of the set-up and Favorite programming steps at least 6 times (after fully deleting all Favorites as per the instructions), following the instructions each and every time to the letter. But, each time, the results are the same... random and non-programmed channels appearing when using the up or down channel buttons. My wife uses the Flipper remote, but most often she calls out to me for help because of this problem. I wish the review was more positive, as we really needed an easy-to-use, and reliable, programmable remote!

Easy to set up, easy to use.
I just got this for my 88 year old dad who struggles with the Dish network remote that has no less than 658 buttons, most of which never get used and just get in the way. I was skeptical because I’m not good at setting up complicated technical stuff and every time I buy something that says “works with most” whatever, it won’t with whatever I’ve got😂 But I must say practically right out of the gate this thing worked like a charm! Dads got a Vizio tv and that comes preset. Within seconds we had the set top box cooperating, and his favorite channels programmed in. He LOVES it! Just a few, simple, large buttons that he can easily handle. Highly recommend!

Idéal pour une personne agée ...
Ma grand mère de 94 ans a tout de suite compris le principe, le gros boutons sont idéaux lorsqu'on ne voit plus clair, l'autonomie est très bonne, et l'essentiel y est .... CHAINE SUIVANTE, CHAINE PRECEDENTE, VOLUME +/- , BOUTON ON/OFF, (petit bouton MUET). Remplace avantageusement une télécommande trop complexe. Pour la configurer, c'est sous le capot que ça se passe, mais l'utilisateur n'a pas besoin de l'ouvrir au quotidien.

Works great for Elderly motherinlaw
This was fairly quick to set up and allowed a complex Sony widescreen TV to be operated by my very elderly Mother in law with just a few large simple buttons. We just had to follow some simple instructions to press in the number code for her Sony TV as per the supplied code list and the remote connected to the TV . We then pressed a code to allow it to select channels and away we went! All too easy.

Leider nicht verwertbar.
Die Anleitung ist leider nur auf Englisch, Nicht kompatibel mit dem TV, da angegebene Codes nicht verwertbar/ funktionierten. Ging deshalb zurück.
