Excellent knife--slices through lots of things with ease.
My wife is a chef and I like to cook. We purchased one of these and had to return it because it developed tiny rust spots. Amazon was fantastic in helping us, as the rust developed shortly after the return policy allowed it, but nevertheless Amazon issued a refund. This is the only time something like this has occurred to one of our Wusthof knives, and we have over a dozen which we have purchased over a span of more than 38 years. These are excellent knives, and this one in particular is very useful even to thinly slice loaf bread without the bread losing its shape. We highly recommend it.

sturdy go-to workhorse for large items
Often enough there's a watermelon or big round loaf of bread or turkey or some other thing that's broad enough that I can't quite get any of my "regular" knives through it in one downward motion. It's awkward when you have to cut things by halves, trying to meet in the middle, etc. Or sometimes I just need the leverage of a long blade for some reason. That's when I turn to my super slicer. It has yet to be bested by anything in my particular kitchen. It cuts great, is sturdy, sharp, menacing even. I love it.

Cuts like buttah
My spouse wanted one of these knives because he loves meat. Of all kinds. And nothing ruins a good meat than a knife not meant for slicing meat. So, here we are, with this knife, from a brand who we’ve trusted for years in our kitchen. I knew we couldn’t go wrong and Wusthof did not fail us. My spouse was infatuated with this beautiful piece of steel and nearly passed out from euphoria when he cut into the turkey. Lots of ooohs and aaahs from the crowd as each one handled the knife and expertly cut their own meat. And he felt it again and again with the roast, the ham and every meat he could get his hands on. 10/10 recommend.

I am pleasantly surprised about how good this knife actually is
I bought this as a gift for my husband as he is a big Wusthof fan and wants to collect the set. I am pleasantly surprised about how good this knife actually is. It slices through bread like nothing. No rips or tears. I can definitely see why my husband likes this brand so much. I would recommend as it is worth the price.

Great Knife
There are many knives for almost every purpose. This knife is engineered to meet the highest standards of cutlery excellence. The saturated edge provides clean cutting with little effort. One advantage of this design is the ability to sharpen the knife with any sharpening device due in part to the serration curves are only on one side of the blade. I highly recommend this knife for carving meat and poultry.

Great knife. Cuts like butter
Absolutely love this knife. Slices my homemade sourdough bread with ease. The ham we bought was like butter under the knife. This knife is just wonderful.

Not as versatile as I would like but a good knife all the same.
I purchased this knife after taking a knife skills course in which the instructor suggested that it is easier to cut waxy-skinned items, like butternut squash, with a serrated edged slicer than it is with a traditional chef’s knife. The demonstration (he gave using what I believe was this knife) was rather convincing and the logic (he offered) made sense, so I purchased the Wusthof Super Slicer. My experiences so far have been mixed. The knife is well made and very sharp and has no problem easily slicing through meat, bread, etc BUT when I’ve tried using it to remove the skin of butternut squash or to cut through any heavy/dense items, I find that the blade is too flexible and it is hard to keep the cuts straight due to the bending. In the end, I have gone back to using a chef’s knife for squash and such items. It is a high-quality knife but I wish the blade was a little stiffer.
