A new collection of 50 healthful, fun recipes for parents and children ages 2 to 5 from "celebrity chefs" Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, and the beloved Sesame Street gang Sesame Street has been entertaining and educating young children and their parents for 45 years with its irresistible, brightly colored โmonsters.โ In recent years, Elmo, Cookie Monster, and the gang have appeared with chefs and on TV to teach kids about healthy eating. Studies have even shown that Elmo helps kids like broccoli. In April 2014, Michelle Obama announced a national โEat Brighterโ campaign that will feature Sesame Street characters on food labels. Sesame Street Let's Cook! furthers this new effort in cookbook form. It features a visual โABCs of Healthy Foods,โ plus 50 simple, healthful recipes for breakfasts, main meals, and snacks. Thereโs a color photo for every recipe, Kids! steps, nutrition tips, and clever sidebars that teach young children ages 2 to 5 skills such as counting, matching, learning the alphabet, and more. This is a fun, practical book to help parents and their kids make simple meals, enjoy time together in the kitchen, and learn about healthy eating. Review: โI DID it!โ (with a big grin) - The first eight pages discuss nutrition, portion sizes, allergies, and safety. My toddler may be more interested in the โABCโs of Healthy Foodโ letter correspondences in the future but for now he delights in the vibrantly colored pages as he identifies the foods. Together time in the kitchen is one of my favorite memories from my childhood. This book has paid for itself already with the one recipe we have tried. We substituted dried cranberries for dried cherries, and oh my gosh it tasted delicious. It is seriously better than my typical blueberry muffins; it Including oats, yogurt to replace oil, and whole wheat flower. Nutrition habits are built at a very early age and at my age I still love learning. The recipes are grouped into various meal times and snacks. Each recipe is marked to show activities a child could help with. My son learned to measure flour more accurately, by using a butter knife to level it off. He takes great pride that he helped made the muffins. We spend a half hour reading books each day. I plan to spend an hour a week sharing home cooked meals with his help. We very rarely eat out, due to cost. This book will save is from evenings of mac and cheese and salmon burgers due to its variety. I highly recommend this book. -JS Review: has been great with my 10yo - I bought this book at least two years ago - possibly even longer ago - not sure. It was fine at the time, but didn't really capture his interest, and the recipes weren't so enticing to me that I ever pulled it out myself. Fast-fwd to the time of COVID - hah - I had several interests in mind: 1 - reduce iPad time 2 - present an engaging activity we could do together 3 - teach him self-sufficiency. Check, check and check! Plenty of vegetarian recipes, which is good because I'm a pescatarian - many that can easily be meatified, and, better yet - only partially meatified (so he and my husband can have meat without me having to, and yes - I know that's a made up word), all have at least a serving of veggies (or fruits for breakfasts and snacks), sometimes more, and so far the recipes have passed my husband's taste bud's test (it's a tough one - I don't pass the test often myself... LOL - I think it helps that his darling son was involved ;-). He's having fun - he told his friend via FaceTime when we were about to get started 'hey, I have to cook with my mom - it's this summer thing she decided, but it's actually fun - I'll call you back in 20 minutes, ok?' - LOL Highly recommend!

Sesame Street: Letโs Cook
I absolutely love this childrenโs cook book. Nearly every recipe is appealing. I canโt wait to try the molasses cookie recipe as well as the sticky rice balls. The illustrations and captions are fun and very appealing. I have the Kindle version, but Iโm tempted to buy a hard copy just to hold in my hands and share with my grandkids (nearly 3 and 7).

Colorful cookbook
This cookbook had a good amount of recipes that a toddler would like. Fun, brightly colored pages with actual pictures of what youโre making. Bonusโฆ itโs spiral bound

Easy, flexible, collaborative for toddlers and up!
Precious cookbook with easy to follow recipes (catering to young children), that by virtue of their simplicity are pretty widely flexible for the adult to add flavor, texture, cooking time, etc. My 2.5 yo has chosen 2 recipes so far, the zucchini and tomato fettuccine, and the multigrain cherry muffins (pictured above). We added to the first recipe (double garlic and lemon, cook tomatoes down, add basil, chicken, broth, pepper, cook in more Parmesan), and veered wildly from the second (Greek yogurt for plain, extra oil, cake flour for whole wheat flour, craisins not cherries, add vanilla, etc), and both came out surprisingly well. The characters add to the excitement, and the habit of starting with fresh groceries and ending with a pretty mess-free meal, are the main pros to be gleaned here.

Actually great recipes, made kid friendly
This is THE BEST cookbook for kids! The recipes are actually good, not silly or a waste of time. It has gotten my 4yo nephew to try several foods he would never normally eat because he made them. So I got another one for the other 4yo nephew. Every picky eater in the family is getting one of these.

Fun to read, great recipes
My 2 year old loves this cookbook and asks to read it often. He's never seen Sesame Street but already knows all the characters' names and loves finding them in the book. It's fun to pick out a recipe together and make it. We've made the waffles, scrambled eggs on toast, cookies, roasted root vegetables, lentil soup, and sloppy Oscars (substituted tofu for the meat). Looking at the pictures of food is a good way to get excited about trying new things.

A well thought out cookbook and a thoughtful book!
Calls for basic ingredients you probably already have on hand. Ingredients list is written in order of usage so you can concentrate on helping your little helper help! Instructions are written in a clear way, easily grouped so when in action, it's done simply. End products are appealing to eat for the average toddler. Great tips on cooking with little ones. Healthy foods representing alphabet. Highly recommended. My only complaint is that the paper is a bit thin. The cover and ring binding are great, though.

A fun time in the kitchen.
I absolutely loved using this book with my 2 year old son. It's been a fun recipe book to go through together during quarantine and we've found a few recipes we'll continue using. My son will even just flip through it and look at the pictures if I'm doing a step he can't do. Definitely recommend it.

Looks fun!
Looking forward to giving this to my niece. It is a little more advanced than I expected but looks super full overall! I like that nutrition is promoted.
