Great saw, options for the price.
My old POS Black and Decker jigsaw died, and I decided to go with B+D again. I use a jig saw maybe once or twice a year (last year was an exception due to COVID projects), so didn't need an overpriced jigsaw with features I would not really need. I have wanted extra power a few times, so I opted for a model with the orbital and the reciprocating mode, too. I just cut out a cat door in one of my inside doors. After I drilled the pilot holes, it took me just under 60 seconds to cut the entire hole out. It was surprisingly precise and was easy to stay on my ruler marks. Now this was not a heavy wooden door, but it did cut through the MDF and insulation easily. The black plate did leave some dark marks, so maybe an unfinished silver plate surface would have been a better choice. The other thing I wish this had was an LED light or laser...but that's being greedy for the price. I'll try some heavier boards and the orbital speeds, but so far I'm completely satisfied with the purchase and value.

Good bargain jig saw that performs well for DIY folks
This is a very decent unit at a very good price. I can't compare this to any other Jig Saw as the only one I had used was my father in laws old 2.5 amp craftsman that could barely cut through butter. My review is based on my expectations and the saws performance. The saw does have a quick attach blade system where you simply pull down the front lever and insert the blade. I found T blade and U blade and the old style craftsman (U with a hole) all worked and stayed in place. The shoe is not the best but for the money it is fine. Mine was not 100% true at zero and it is not easily adjusted. The shoe uses preset slots to determine 0 degree and 45 degree etc. You can't slide it around to find any particular angle and lock it in that position. Not a deal breaker for me as I only use the jog saw for 0 or 90 degree flat cuts. I was surprised to find a dust collection port on back. It really is just a hole for a vacuum attachment and in the front is a small half hole type area that is supposed to suck up the dust. However I find that the dust all blows forward and to the right based on the moor exhaust so I didn't really see much difference when I used it with or without the vacuum. Nice try but not really that functional. The cut speed was fine for what I did. I was cutting pressure treated 1x stock that was moist as usual when brought home from the big box store. I used my blades and put it on high speed and had no issue at all. There is no trigger guard or protection. Once plugged in you touch the trigger and it goes. You need to be careful. Several times I picked it up and not meaning to "turn it on" it started up. Be careful. I tried a left handed cut based on how my wood was in my clamp. All the exhaust from the motor blew in my eyes along with all the dust. Even with my safety glasses I git a face full. You can't direct the flow like you can with some air tools. That would be nice but then the price of this unit would go up. Not a complaint just some info to share for any lefties. All in all I would recommend the jig saw. I think I got what I paid for and saved a ton of money compared to other 5 amp or more units.

Great performer for value pricing.
This thing rocks. For the price, I don't know how you can beat it. I'm a DIY freak sometimes but I'm also cheap as sh!?, so I find myself also looking for a deal. I used this yesterday as part of a "replace a door and door frame and moulding" project. I could not have completed the project without it. I purchased some "T" blades made by Bosch as well. It can rip through the wood in no time off you just push through it, but it's a bit rough. Go slow, let the Rpms work and it's just fine. It ripped down on oversized aluminium doggie door in about 30 seconds, solving yet another unexpected problem mid project as well. I'm very very happy with my little 34$ investment. I know most of these are all China made, I didn't look at this one to be sure, but I like names I know. Black and Decker, along with many others, always find their way into my tool box. If you are wondering if you should do it, wonder no longer. Amazon delivering next day kinda helped too.

great tool
Ergonomically, the BLACK+DECKER Jig Saw is very user-friendly. The handle is comfortable and well-designed, reducing hand fatigue during extended use. The tool feels balanced and sturdy, which enhances control and accuracy while cutting. The included blade change mechanism is quick and convenient, making it simple to switch blades as needed. The 45-degree bevel cutting capability is another highlight. It allows for accurate angled cuts, which is perfect for making beveled edges and complex joints.

Durable, easy to use, and great quality, especially for price
At this price, I was a bit leery about the quality and durability, but I originally bought this to create an easy opening for a cat door. The quality and easy of use was so impressive, I was motivated to keep going. I purchased additional saws for some heavier work and used my COVID quarantine time to work on the bar - I used this baby to saw the rotten wood off the bottom of the siding all the way across, cutting about 15-18ft through siding boards about 1in thick. It did not hesitate. I then moved on to some deck furniture and used this saw to round the edges. I've since used it for more than I can count. It's so easy to just plug in and zip through something that needs a quick cut I have it hanging over my work bench ready to go. I'd definitely recommend it, even for experienced wood workers who would be using it all the time.

It’s powerful!
Other reviews have covered the many good points of this saw. Here’s a different positive. Moved and didn’t have large power tools at the location yet. Pruned oak trees and needed to cut larger parts of the limbs small enough for yard waste pickup. It easily sawed through solid oak limbs about 3 inches in diameter. With just the supplied general purpose blade. Powerful for the price!
