Great basic books for toddlers regarding these five emotions!
These are very cute books that go along well with the movie story. What's really unique is that the last page of every book is another one of the five characters so each book introduces the other. Also, the back of the box (not seen in the main picture) has a hole that's cut out with a line for "Mood of the Day" so you can put the book with the emotion you most feel like that day in the front so it's showing out that side. These books are a great way for kids to touch on and understand these five main emotions (sadness, joy, anger, fear and disgust).

my daughters favorite book!
My daughter has been requesting this story every night at bedtime for the last 2 months. She’s obsessed! I wish it were available in paperback as well.

Pure Silliness and Fun- Harmless
I have a 3.5 year old and we read lots of books on "handling emotions" so no- this set is not great for accurately dealing with emotions- but they are instead silly and if read emphatically and dramatically in more of a joking way- you can have a lot of fun. If your child can't separate between silliness and real life- no you prob should avoid these. Some of the reviews here made me laugh, this is a Disney cartoon not some authentic self help book set. The words are limited, and we've read a ton of 1, 2 and 3 level reader books, so I wasn't very impressed with the verbiage, HOWEVER, my daughter has memorized all of them and reads them word for word. The text/print is interestingly laid out and colorful. She cracks up laughing (prob more mature for her age) and understands that this isn't real life, this is just for fun. I mean come on, Disgust calls feet - smelly blobs - it's not anatomically correct either! My daughter loves it!

Short & Easy to Read.
This book is great for your little one who is an Inside Out fanatic like my son! The words are simple enough where my son can understand and follow along. There are 5 books in this set (one designated for each emotion). Also the books are short enough where we can read the whole set or just one book depending on his attention span. Each book is written in the point of view of the emotion, which I thought is really cool! That way, I can explore the different aspects of emotions with my little guy. The books were well made. The cover is hardcover/durable and the pages are very thick. The illustrations are very nice too. I highly recommend this book!

I am a school counselor and this is a fantastic set of books for primary kids
I am a school counselor and this is a fantastic set of books for primary kids. They all know the movie, they all relate to the feelings. I had a very stubborn 1st grader new to our school run out of class this week. When I got him to my office he looked at the pack of books and asked if he could borrow one. I asked him which one he thought he would want and he chose "fear", so I know where to start with his behavioral issue, because he basically just identified that he was scared of something. Perfect. I would highly recommend these!!

Great Collection of Book he;ping with Emotional Dialogue with Children
My daughters didn't care much for the movie but ended up loving the books. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year, our family is focusing on teaching them to identify their emotions and the emotions of their friends in an attempt to begin to build empathy and more complex thinking about their big reactions and emotions. The books are simple, hold their attention and have begun to become part of the conversation when BIG emotions happen. They are a nice tool for us.
