perfect for survival bags!
I bought these on a whim, adding it to a last minute order of some supplies for the emergency bags I've been in the process of compiling. When they arrived I couldn't believe how tiny and light they are! I received one in green, one orange. The towels arrive in small disc-shapes, packaged between two pieces of paper with plastic sealed around the edges. Removing the plastic and paper reveals the spongy disc, which must be moistened with water to transform into a towel. Once unfolded, the towel resembles a cheesecloth-like material. Very soft, but feels fairly durable. They're also surprisingly absorbent, I got it wet and despite feeling only slightly damp I was able to wring quite a bit of water out of it. These can definitely be reused a few times, even longer depending on how and for what they're used. This size in particular is handy for a myriad of things - washing or drying dishes, washing hands, as a face towel, shower rag, etc. Could be cut up and used for bandages, hell even cut into strips and used to mark a trail. You can't go wrong with these - they're SO tiny, light, and ridiculously useful, for all kinds of things. Thank god for impulse purchases, I'm so glad I found these little gems! (Measurements: Before opened, it measures about 1.75" across and about 0.25" width, and 10.5"x13" once fully opened.)

Perfect for edc, camping, hiking, bushcraft, survival, etc
Perfect size for the majority of tasks you will be faced with, super absorbent yet dry quick so you can re use as a towel if needed Can be used as a tourniquet in a medical situation or to substitute for gauze. For camping or hiking you want something compact and with multiple uses This is a better option compared to a bandanna for many reasons; strong enough to use as a tourniquet better to filter water with due to how tight the weave is way more absorbent yet dries out super quick and about the same price for a much more compact size They arrived on time and the packaging was great. I will be dealing with this seller again. i highly recommend this product to anyone who gets outdoors or is looking for some vital pieces of gear in their survival or bug out bags

Purchased these for my trip (UPDATE)
I purchased these to take along on my European trip, where I happen to be right now. I purchased lots of stuff off amazon for this trip and have used most of them so far including these towels. So far, I've used the towel to wick perspiration from my face while sightseeing. I keep it tied to the strap of my purse so its handy. I also use one for washing dishes (collapsible travel dishes) I use daily. The towels I have are bright orange, and by keeping it tied to the strap of my purse makes me visible to oncoming traffic when walking in unfamiliar places. These towels are very light and absorbant and are actually pretty good quality for such a simple clothl like towel. I wish I had purchased a few more for backup. Also, in my travels I meet a lot of people who are also backpackers, and these would be ideal gifts/tokens to hand out. I can't see anybody not having a need for these. Above all, I like the small size disc they are formed in which makes them so easy to tuck away anywhere. They are worth every penny! I'm on another long trip and currently staying in a furnished apartment. I've used 2 so far for washing dishes and one for cleaning the bathroom. I have a few left from several orders and plan to buy some more on my return trip home. I wish these could be purchased at Wal-Mart or other local stores.

Light, strong, absorbent, dries quickly
Light, absorbent, strong, good size, soft, wring out, clip to pack with a diaper pin, dries quickly. Doesn’t last forever, but at least 10 days. (Much better than Swedish cloth that stays damp). Perfect for washing up, washing self, or wiping tent. Perfect for backpacking.

Exactly what I wanted.
I purchased these small towels for my emergency 3-day kits that I am making for my family. The goal was to have some sanitation/cleanup ability in the kits to help clean up and feel human if you are going through hard times. These towels are very small and slide right into the empty corners of my kits, which is excellent. I did buy one extra and opened it to see what I was getting. It was exactly as described, a 12 x 12 towel that needs water to fully expand. They are advertised as machine washable, but not too many times I expect. They are not really a full-time washcloth as I don't believe they would last much past a week or two of regular use. But for camping, or for my kits, a week or two of good hard use is exactly what I'm asking for. If I had to make a suggestion for product improvement, it would be in the packaging. If these are to be used in camping and emergency kits, and if they are activated by water, I would prefer that they would be fully enclosed in a watertight plastic wrapping so they don't get wet before I want them to. If the individual discs were at least relatively watertight, I would probably bump these to five stars.

Great product for your survival pack!
The Lightload Towels are a great item to have in your backpack or survival kit. Very Durable. So many uses: handkerchief, bandage, water filter, kindling to start a fire, bandana, and durable enough for a wash cloth to clean utensils and dishes. They are very tiny and take up hardly any space. Way more durable than a regular paper towel and more absorbent, regardless of other peoples reviews. Only downside is it takes water to activate/expand. Therefore, either having to wait for the lightload towel to dry before being able to dry off/absorb spills or messes. Also, fresh water will usually be scarce, so you may need to find a river/water source to not waste fresh water when in times of survival. Overall, a great product that should be a part of your gear!

Super Awesome!
These towels are great! I wasn't prepared at all for how small they actually are! They fit easy in your pocket and weigh nothing at all. I highly, highly reccomend them for BOB bags. You can fit dozens of these in nooks and crannies, all you need is a bit of water and they pop apart. I currently take medications that make me sweat excessively and these towels are a life saver. It's so embarassing when it starts but LightLoad towels help so much. They are so small yet so absorbant I can hide one in my pocket and the great thing is I can wash them at the end of the day! Thanks so much for this awesome product! This beats paper towels hands down!!!

Worth the money if you have medium expectations
Do these work? Yes. Are they washable? Kind of. For the money in an emergency is it worth having? Yes. Will you ever be able to fold it into even half as small as they are when they come? Absolutely not.

Excellent for its purpose
I recently bought 2 of these towels to use when out canoeing as pretty much a last-ditch lifesaver to help get dry - We carry larger microfibre towels in our dry bag but for just in case, these Lightload towels are great stashed away in pockets of our boyancy aids along with a space blanket each, and they're great for this. Astonishingly tiny, so light you'd never know you're carrying it, and individually shrink-wrapped (ie waterproof until needed) these couldnt be better for our needs - Sure, their size qualifies them more as flannels than towels and theyre likely pretty much only a single-use in practical terms (no chance of ever getting them packed back down remotely as small as they come originally, even if they do physically last much more than a single use), but for the kind of purpose these are intended, not to mention their low cost, who cares? The negative reviews from people complaining about the small size when opened confuse me, it's not like the product title doesnt clearly mention that its a 12x12 "hand size", and hell, thats why they also sell a bigger one.

Camping essential
I have used these products several times now on solo backpacking trips and found them extremely handy for washing, drying feet and legs after crossing rivers rtc and also for absorbing condensation from the tent in the morning. They can also be used several times over as they are easely wrung out and will dry (weather permitting)and are good to go again. The best overall characteristic of these has to be their compactness and weight, you can easely throw 6-7 in your pack for a week and you wouldn't know they were in there.
