The best!
I had the earlier version of this pack and used it for a decade and a half! It was still working, with a couple of restitchings where overloading and slinging it around had caused some small tears. And eventually I had cracked the interior plastic frame piece at the back. Lots and lots of air miles logged on it, and I have loved it: All the space, well designed spacious main compartments, key holder, small pockets to hold things, just a righteous design and strong materials. So this being basically the same unit, but with the zip-down TSA laptop-stay-in for x-ray was my choice, since I have loved its predecessor. With this new one, TSA did let the laptop thru without taking it out, just zipping it down. Love this one, and will not replace it till abuse brings it to too many scars etc. Can't think you could find a better, or equal product, at this price. Buy one and you'll see!

Great deal for the price! Sturdy!
Comfortable and spacious. I use this for overseas trips as my carry on, but I also carry my laptop around town in it. It is far better built than most comparably priced packs, plus it looks really professional. I am not a fan of brand logos, so I removed the Kensington logo and replaced it with a Stormtrooper patch (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0100S4ZCU) to customize it.

Nearly perfect for my needs
This pack holds a lot! I use it as a carry on for work travel and use it for the items I need while on the go or don't want to risk the airline losing. Lots of pockets and zippered compartments all over the place. The front most compartment is the perfect size for my 8" tablet and also has a key hook and several pockets. The second section back has 4 mesh pockets perfect for most hand held devices (mouse, powerbank, laptop charger, etc.) The bottom of the central compartment is quite wide and can hold larger objects. The rearmost section has a well padded laptop sleeve and unzips to lay open for airport security without having to remove the laptop . One thing it could use in this back section is another sleeve to keep paperwork in, but this isn't a major problem. Zippered pockets on both sides and a bottle holder as well. The only major flaw I've found is that the fabric handle at the top is too narrow to easily fit over the handle on luggage for stacked towing, so it takes some work to get it on and off. Not good if your in a hurry. Maybe it will stretch. The only other problem I had was the first trip I made with it, I felt it bumping against my rear on the walk off of the plane. I'd had the zippers for the laptop compartment at the top, and the weight of the contents and pulled the zippers open. Easily solved by keeping the zippers at the side. Pros: Huge capacity Fairly comfortable Lots of pockets and compartments Decent looking, though plain. Cons: Fabric strap does not easily fit over a luggage cart handle for stacking Zippers on laptop section can pull open on their own if they are positioned at the top Could use an extra sleeve for paperwork in the back.

It's okay...frayed at the seams on pocket
Bought this about a year ago. It seems more spacious, but seems a tad more cheaply made compared to its predecessor. I haven't traveled with it as often as my last one, but the side pocket is fraying at the seams within the first few months, the previous one did not do that.

It's good, but not perfect
It came down tho this bag vs. a Targus. I picked this one for a few features over the Targus. I've not, yet, traveled with it, but I used it every day. It appears to be well made. Zippers are fairly heavy duty, but we'll see how well they last. I like that it stands up itself, has a rubberized bottom and is understated. I don't like velcro. This bag has it in two places. On the side where you put a bottle. And internally where you strap down your laptop. The velcro wears out with use over time and I think for this reason alone, I wouldn't buy this bag again. Yes, it secures your laptop, but I'd rather not have the velcro. Another minor quibble is the "contouring" on the back for airflow is so minimal it's non-existent. And the last one. The handle on the top is hidden under the straps. It's not in a very good place. So, for quality (so far) 4 stars. Design, 2 and a half stars. EDIT: I've had some time to travel with it. First, the velcro is terrible. It actually has caused me to remove a star. The laptop strap sticks to the inside pocket. It's going to tear it up and reduce the life of the pack. A mechanical fastener would be better. Second, the airflow contouring is useless. Absolutely useless. It's not stiff enough to make any difference at all. In fact, it might as well not even be there. The good is that it's roomy and travels fairly well. I just hate the velcro. Edit 2: I still don't like the Velcro.

Top loading design after a year of use
I have searched for years for a backpack that can carry a computer and the other stuff I need to lug around in my weekly travels. I have gone through dozens of bags. This is the first one that I have found does everything I need it to do. It's the right size. The top loading design lets you leave the bag open, like a real bag, not some fashion puzzle. Then when you get up to go, you just put your stuff in through the top, zip it up, and go. This is so much better than most bags that require a lot more effort to get things in and out and close them up. I probably carry 20 to 25lbs of stuff and this bag is both comfortable and easy to use. From how this is put together, I expect I will have it for many years of weekly use but when the time comes I would certainly get another one again. Bought last year in Feb. It's now a year later. Update after a year of use: I use this bag daily. It now carries 30 to 40 lbs of load including computer, a liter of water, radio, antenna, fork-knife-spoon set, headlight, spare batteries, a few pounds of keys, power adapters, cables, glasses, gloves, hat, cards, pens/pencils, folder with papers and often a 3.5 inch hard drive in a protective case. I've carried it for hours at a time and it's constantly in and out of cars and aircraft. Now for the amazing part: It shows no visible signs of wear! The whole thing works as if it were new. I would buy this bag again in a heartbeat. Even with all the junk I put in it, the thing somehow will allow me to cram in a pair of wind pants or a book. Many other bag I've had did not last most of a year and started coming apart typically at the strap attach points because of the weight. This thing is still in one piece! When it wears out I'll try to find another. It reminds me of how stuff used to be made.

Nice looking and good for travel
Purchased this not only for every day use, because I wanted a nice looking backpack to carry to the office, but also for travel on some of the no frills airlines as a "personal item". This worked great on Frontier and Spirit airlines, which have very restrictive size limits for personal items. Was able to fit a couple of days worth of clothing and carry on the plane with no issue.
