I am using these on rocks, so I have to topcoat with polyurethane to keep the crystals from being knocked off. I'm all about using paints for alternative uses. The stars glow just like described. If I want more stars, I just wait until coat one is dry before I apply coat 2. I haven't had to paint more than 2 coats to get the effect I want. Great Stuff! Review: Grainy, Not worth the price - First of all, it's tiny. I'm not familiar enough with glow in the dark paint to know if this is a decent price, but in my opinion, it's not worth the 14.99 price tag. You get like 3 oz. I think the picture is misleading, it looks like you'd be getting a tub, instead your getting pittance. Second, it's not really a glow in the dark paint. It's glow in the dark granules in a clear solution, and even that isn't very good. The granules are too scattered so it just looks like faintly glowing crumbs. Highly disappointed, don't waste your money on this. I realize a lot of this is my bad. I didn't read closely enough, sure, but it still doesn't make me less disappointed in the product as a whole. And I'm still warning other customers who are like me and hoping for something more substantial. Read everything. If you're wanting a glow in the dark paint, this is not it.
