Works! If you have a mouse, Smartpoint is also a great download!
Works for M570 trackball mouse. Thank gosh, as I needed to replace mine badly as I lost it over a year ago and have been using a regular mouse that I'm not really fond of ever since. Seems a little pricey, but much cheaper than buying a new trackball mouse. Make sure your mouse is compatible however, as this isn't 100% universally compatible with all Logitech mice (although I'm pretty sure they make different universal receivers, which altogether cover most if not all of their products)...nice that it will work on multiple devices as well. Make sure you download the software online btw, as you won't be able to use your accessories with this receiver without downloading the software first. Also as a sidenote, if you are using this for a mouse, especially a trackball mouse, I recommend also downloading the "Smartpoint" software as well, as it lets you customize the function of the buttons on your mouse.

Works but you must follow the steps...
Works but you should complete the following steps. I called Logitech prior to buying this unifying receiver. The unifying device technology is relatively new and you can identify unifying compatibility by looking at the sticker for your item (on the bottom of the device). If its compatible you will see a orange astrick like logo on the bottom. My keyboard and mouse combination SET is the popular MK510. After calling Logitech and validating my model information and compatibility with the receiver, I proceeded with buying this item on Amazon. When you open you must visit the website notes on the back of the package. After the you install the unifying software you must then pair each device. To pair each device you want to turn off and then turn on the device and it will pair. It does work once you install and pair your devices.

Won't pair with trackballs listed as compatible
Works with my mouse but didn't work with my Logitech trackball with new batteries which is why I subtracted a star. I lost the trackball's unifying receiver that went with my new laptop (both laptop and trackball were new last Christmas) so I purchased a receiver that was supposed to be compatible from a long list of available receivers on Amazon. Don't know why it didn't pair even after troubleshooting efforts failed. I tried the receiver and trackball with several other PC's including a neighbor's laptop and it wouldn't pair either even after downloading the proper software. I also have other PC's with trackballs, a desktop and an older laptop. They too wouldn't pair with said trackball and receiver. None of the troubleshooting methods found on blogs, youtube videos or Logitech support helped to remedy the problem. Also, I took the desktop PC's trackball and USB receiver, plugged it into my new laptop's port and the desktop's trackball and receiver paired immediately. A FAQ from Logitech states that some mice won't work with all unifying receivers if they were paired with another device. I didn't find that to be true. Just be warned that if you have a trackball and need a new unifying USB receiver then they might not pair. I believed that all Logitech receivers should work with all Logitech unifying devices. That might not be true. Also, note that a unifying receiver can pair with only 6 devices at one time.

Need to download Software for it to work!
I was about to return mine and write a 1-star review, thinking this was a fail! No dice on 3 mice and 2 PCs. Then I was reading comments below a 1-star review and realized: I need to load Software from the Logitech site! Somehow I'd missed that crucial info. So, if yours doesn't work, Go find the Unifying Software on the Logitech Downloads page (bottom right, presently). I know have an M570 Trackball & an M525 miniMouse work working - connected to the smallest profile USB adapter I've ever seen. My computer door can close with this device plugged in. Bonus points!

Warning: Check your hadware before ordering - unifying or non-unifying
Note: This unifying receiver works as designed with unifying compatible hardware. This review is to notify everyone about the confusion between the two different types of receivers and hardware being sold, unifying and non-unifying, and how important it is to check your hardware before ordering a replacement receiver. In August 2014 I purchased the Logitech MK270 combo mouse and kb from Amazon. It all worked perfectly right out of the box. A few weeks later my son lost the the USB receiver, so I went looking for a replacement and found this on Amazon: New Logitech Unifying USB Receiver for Mouse keyboard M515 M570 M600 N305 MK270 MK330 MK520 MK710 MK605 Notice my MK270 is included. So I was confident this is the right replacement receiver and I ordered it. So the new receiver arrives, I plug it in, wait for it to see the mouse and kb, and nothing. Nada. So I start with the basics and change out the batteries in both the mouse and kb, Still nothing. So I try a different USB port. Still nothing. Then I try it on another laptop. Nothing. So then I start looking for solutions on the web. Long story short, I found that my MK270 mouse and kb will not work with a unifying receiver. Say what? After digging around a lot, I discovered to my surprise that my MK270 mouse and kb doesn't have the Unifying symbol, and are therefore not compatible with the unifying receiver. So I came to the conclusion that there must be two different MK270 combos being sold. One comes with a unifying receiver and compatible unifying mouse and kb, and one with a non-unifying receiver and non-unifying mouse and kb. Confused yet? Me too. I don't know if this is a marketing mistake or just an oversight on Logitech's part, but the fact there are two MK270 (and possibly more) combos being sold on the market with two different USB receiver types and hardware is going to mean a big headache and lots of confusion for consumers. So unless you are already very familiar with Logitech's wireless products, and especially the differences between their unifying and non-unifying hardware and compatibility, most people are going to make the same mistake I did when it comes to purchasing a replacement USB receiver, and then become frustrated like I did when they discover it doesn't work as expected. I took my time in typing this up and explaining at length in order to inform other consumers, and hopefully to prompt Logitech and resellers into making the necessary changes to their packaging and/or documentation. It's important to make it much clearer to consumers that there are two types of USB receivers being sold, and that some hardware will not work with the unifying receivers. Bottom line and message to everyone: Before buying a replacement USB receiver, check your wireless hardware to see if it has the Logitech unifying star symbol on it. If it doesn't, it's not going to work with a unifying receiver.

UPDATE - Does not work
3/5/19 afternoon - I have to apologize to Logitech for my earlier comments. Once I took the time to read the instructions, I learned that I needed to download the Logitech Unifying Software in order for the USB receiver to pair with my mouse and keyboard. Ever since...everything is functioning perfectly. So good to have the wireless hardware working again. 3/5/19 morning - BUYER BEWARE! Right from the package to the computer...NO GO! Description indicates it will work with my keyboard and mouse which have the unifying symbols and states it will work with my keyboard and mouse model but after attempting to use it on three different laptops and a PC it's a dud. AND NO REFUNDS! What a burn...

Contact company to ensure compatibility
Description said that the item was compatible with my mouse but when it was received it did not work at all. Company will be refunding my money though so I think them. I would contact the company prior to purchasing to ensure that it's compatible with the device you have.
