Mighty little gadget
I have only been using this keyboard for about a week now, and I have to say that I am more than happy with the purchase. I did get this one because they said that it was updated version and I use it to control my viewsonic board as a teacher, and WOW. In the past, I have used a clicker to move through my slides, but this little keyboard with the mouse pad is an all in one powerhouse gadget. It is light, and doesn't seem so substantial and I am sure that once i drop it a few times, its going to break, but it really has made my life much easier, and for $24 that is a big win for me. I do not use the BT to connect to my viewsonic board, I use the dongle, and there is no lag time for anything. I can use it from anywhere in my classroom without any issues. The mouse works great, and the two red buttons on top are great for mouse clicking too. Really impressed.

Almost perfect mini keyboard
Keyboard is a solid and reliable mini keyboard for HTPC and similar use cases. it has a similar layout to the previous model which was sold under various brands but with the addition of Bluetooth connectivity, a larger touch pad, a slightly better key layout and a few additional buttons and a scroll wheel. the only drawback to this model is the shape, the previous model of this type of keyboard shown in the attached picture was easier to hold on to, whereas the oval shape of this tends to slip out of the hand. The Bluetooth connectivity in particular is a very good thing because if you lose the dongle on the non Bluetooth models they become useless, whereas this one remains useful. incidentally that's why I'm buying this one, I lost a dongle to the old one.

So close to perfect that you may as well stop searching and buy this one.
I'v gone through a number of these with my media PC and this one is far and away the best PROs - The buttons are big, and very responsive - The touchpad is perfect - my last one was very jumpy, and would move the cursor off the button when you took your finger off the touchpad - even with sensitivity reduced. Drove me nuts. - Scrollwheel! Enough said - Options of connection. BT is convenient but doesn't work on boot to get into BIOS and things like that. With the 2.4Ghz dongle it's like having a keyboard attached. For me that's very important. - The shoulder buttons are big and very easy to find in the dark if you just need to pause/play. - The backlight when turned on is very bright! - The backlight comes on automatically for a few seconds when you turn on the keyboard. CONS - There is no dedicated pause/play and FF/RW buttons. They are each a two key combination. In some applications the OK/left/right work for those features - in some they don't. I may be wrong, but I feel like most people with use this little keyboard for media - and dedicated buttons would be convenient. If you use Linux it's very easy to reprogram some of the less useful hardware buttons. I have no idea what the process would be on Mac/Windows. - Turning on the backlight is a two-key combination, which can be a little tricky to find in the dark. I'm hoping muscle memory will solve this problem shortly. - This seems to be an industry standard on this type of keyboard - I've looked at dozens - but there is only one shift button. It's only a mild annoyance because nobody is setting typing speed records on this little guy. With that exception it's a full keyboard - including an AltGR button for accented/special character input, which is great!

Perfect solution to living room pc setup!
Fantastic little keyboard mouse combo. Love the flexibility of Bluetooth and usb dongle. The compact size and backlighting is a must especially for my living room pc setup. Track pad is responsive and smooth. Must have for couch gaming and web browsing on the tv. Highly recommended.

Nifty, Versatile, and Compact - Impressed!
Handy little controller!! Boyfriend has been talking about wanting the Rii i8 for 5+ years, and when we went to finally get it, we ended up going with the Rii i4 Mini. I did not know what to expect (with either model), but I was down to try it, and it has been great! For a controller, keyboard, and trackpad all in one, it serves a great purpose and has a lot of versatility and functionality! Now, I was very surprised by the size, given that it has a keyboard, trackpad, and a bunch of other function buttons. It fits perfectly on my palm, and the length is pretty much the same size as my hand from wrist edge to fingertip. So, if you have larger hands, it will likely fit well in your hand. When using it, you will want to use both hands since it needs to face the same way as the keyboard. It is very thin and is flat, with no real bulges. It is also extremely lightweight. It is made with plastic materials but is structurally sound. It has a full-functioning keyboard and trackpad, as well as other buttons, most of which are labeled. The trackpad has good sensitivity and gestures. The little finger instructional icon pictures are actually on the trackpad, as shown in the photos (it is not a sticker or removable); I personally find this to be helpful since it helps you to learn them, and you can easily reference it instead of having to find the manual or Google it. It connects to devices by Bluetooth and/or a dongle and is fairly easy to connect. We have used it successfully with our laptop, iPad, and iPhone. One thing to note if using a MacBook - we had to change the trackpad settings on the laptop to make it go two-finger down for down, etc,... this then reversed the actual computer's trackpad. I appreciate the backlight as it makes it very easy to operate in the dark or at night, as well as find if it ends up mixed in the bed or couch ha... The backlight has auto on/off feature which is helpful and preserves battery. We use it mainly as our "tv remote" via laptop connected to the tv, and it is very convenient...sorry not sorry, we aren't going to get up every time we need to pause or rewind, search, etc. It is also wicked helpful for the iPad and iPhone, making typing a breeze just like on a laptop. It is rechargeable via USB-C, much preferred over regular batteries - and it holds a charge for a good while with lots of uses. I think there is a little bit of learning merely from what do all of these buttons do (obviously not your typical keyboard ones), but it is very easy to operate. If you are looking for a compact, multi-purpose remote/controller and mini full keyboard - this is a good one. Given its size and weight, it is very easy to transport. You can also find cases made for it (sold separately), which I highly recommend for longevity, especially if you do plan to travel/transport it... Again, it is plastic - a sturdy plastic, but you will want to take precautions... I can see issues if you throw it in the bottom of a bag and crush it... Also, the price is great for what you get out of it.

Works great as a remote control for Kodi
Here's how this thing works: * The left/right should buttons are the left and right mouse buttons * The scroll wheel works like a mouse scroll wheel, and you can click it (press down) for the middle mouse button * The touchpad has one finger tap for left click, two finger tap for right click, and two finger sweep for scrolling. * The circle pad maps to the arrow keys and the center "OK" button maps to Enter. * The keys feel pretty good and are more clicky than mushy which I like. There's not much missing with this arrangement other than keys like PrtScr, Scroll Lock, Pause/Break, Home, End, PgUp, and PgDn. It doesn't have any media keys other than volume on/off/mute and a Fn+Key shortcut for reverse, play/pause, and forward. It uses a USB-C cable for charging only; you cannot use this in wired mode. It uses a lithium battery that fits into a socket and really looks a lot like the same form factor as old Nokia flip-phone batteries so perhaps this thing can be replaced once it loses its charge someday. Overall it works really well. The backlight helps a lot, the keyboard is responsive and doesn't have missed presses or double presses. I think the touchpad sensitivity is a bit high and you may need to fiddle with your OS to make it work. There's no control to adjust the touchpad DPI. I'm using this as a remote control for a Kodi-based HTPC running Ubuntu and it's pretty great. Really no complaints at all for that purpose. I can't comment if it's good for heavy text entry like word processing but for having nearly all of a touchpad+mouse+keyboard in a compact controller it's pretty great.

It does okay, but the battery life is weak.
It does it's job for what it costs. Bluetooth my phone. I'm writing a book and have used it for an hour or two per day this week. Battery life isn't very good, since it should last a few weeks, but it lasted just a few days. And the battery light didn't come on. It just stopped working and stopped connecting to my phone. Recharging it now. It's cute and a good size for me. I have the hard case to carry it in too. It's feels lighter more fragile than I expected, so I try hard not to drop it. Bluetooth synced up fast to my android. QWERTY set up is good though I wish they had a SHIFT button on both sides of the keyboard.

It is better than I could have hoped for it to be.
I love this company. They make incredible products that are so well built and efficient. This is exactly what you need for browsing the web, doing research, anything small. I don't recommend replacing you keyboard and mouse for this for gaming because it is too small for that, but it is perfect for anything else. I use this to type quickly on my Xbox, but it has Bluetooth capabilities as well as an adaptor so you can simply plug it in and turn it on, or turn it on and connect it. The track pad is extremely responsive, the keyboard buttons are a very thick rubber which makes it nice to press on. It is completely silent and so easy to set up. I can control my volume through this and it house a little mouse wheel on it!! When you press the buttons, it lights up the buttons from underneath in a convenient yet simple way. It's super easy to use and I will be using this all the time. Thank you Rii for another amazing product!
