OXO Good Grips Etched Medium Grater, Yellow

This grater works well. Nice sturdy handle with good grip. Metal grater good for both zesting and finely grating. Good value for money.

The companion to the larger OXO coarse cheese grater, this small model is also an etched grater that produces a fine shred quickly, but is uni-directional instead of bi-directional like so many graters these days. Like most any food, grated cheese begins oxidizing the moment it is shredded, so the flavor of cheese shredded from a brick is really much better than buying from a bag. Because it's etched, it's super-sharp, so I wouldn't recommend it for shaky or clumsy hands. PROS: • Nice, comfortable grip • Etched super-sharp surface lets you grate with less pressure • Narrow profile makes grating a less messy affair • Blade cover enhances storage safety • Super-fine, short shreds make for easiest melting and less mess CONS: • Not suitable for shaky or clumsy hands due to extreme sharpness • Ultra-sharp grating surface can be a challenge to clean - rinse immediately with hot water after use before dishwashing

OXO hits it perfectly. This medium grater is very sharp, easy to use and safe to handle. It comes with an slip-on and off cover for protection and cleans up in a snap. The rubber surround and handle protect your cutting board or glass bowl as you grate. This is second grater I've purchased (zester, medium grater, and coarse grater.) They can stack one on top of another and don't take up a lot of space in the utensil drawer. Highly recommend.

Good all around grater. Only issue for me is the size. It’s a bit large but does make it easier to handle.

I purchased two of these OXO graters, one for coarse grating and the other for medium grating. They've quickly become two of my favorite kitchen tools. They work extremely well for grating both hard and softer cheeses, chocolate, carrots, onions, and anything else I've tried on them. They are very sharp, with a grating surface similar to a micro-plane, and make short work of any grating task. The medium grater is especially good at grating parmesan cheese, producing a fluffy and airy mound of grated cheese in a flash. I also like that they are dishwasher safe and come with a snap-on cover that protects the sharp edges when storing them in a kitchen drawer with other utensils. Highly recommended!
