Would they work in a canister type fixture?

They have to have a clear shade or they will not turn on. They do not work with frosted shades or any shade that yoou cannot see throuugh.

are these bulbs motion sensor, meaning do they turn on at night when they sense movement or they just stay on all night

These magnificently reliable bulbs come on at dusk, stay on throughout the night, and turn off at dawn. But these bulbs are NOT motion activated.

Can you use these with white plastic globes?

I tried in my outdoor wall lanterns with frosted glass and they don't work. They shut themselves off but won't come back on. I also tried in a desk lamp with small cone shape shade and it blinks with 1-2 seconds intervals.

Do they turn on/off instantly or does it take three minutes?
