Semogue Excelsior 740 Pure Badger Shaving Brush

A very well made brush, excellent handle (it's acrylic so it won't swell and split over time like a wood handle), good density and quality of knot - even though it is pure badger which is technically the lowest quality of badger (I feel quality is the wrong word here - softness would be more appropriate).It's well made and in may ways I cannot fault it, it is just that it was bought as a firmer alternative to my Vulfix Super Badger (which is unbelievably soft). Somehow I was expecting a lot more backbone to the knot from this brush in comparison to my existing Vulfix (as Super should be a lot softer than Pure badger), and in someways it is a little firmer than the Vulfix but not by much.I think my findings concerning this brush have revealed that technically there isn't much wrong at all with this brush - it lathers great with creams, is well made and sheds few hairs (my experience with all Semogue brushes in my collection). Packaging and delivery from "Portuguese Factory" was first class (as they have been with all my orders).It just seems that my personal preference leans far more to the boar knot camp than the badger knot camp so this brush isn't in my favourites, but do not let his put you off if you are a fan of badger knots - if this is the case then this will probably be the brush for you.

Un blaireau qui est enfin beau (sans le côté chichiteux qu'on trouve malheureusement presque partout), qui n'essaie pas de faire croire que son manche est en ivoire ou en ébène (c'est du plastique joliment assumé), et pour le moment pas un poil qui se soit détaché.Un peu raide au début mais ça s'assouplit vite.
