Great value, Quality & Performance
I have a very old Sony Rear Projection TV (KP65WV600) that I got way back in 2009. Recently, Netflix informed me that they no longer supported an equally old WD Live TV streaming box that I'd been using.A old (2016) review by "Amazon Customer", who had a similar Sony rear projectionTV, was very helpful.I paired this Bleiden HDMI 2 AV Converter with an Amazon Fire Stick that it was specifically made for. Instead of using my TV's HDMI connection for the Fire Stick, I by-passed the TV's speakers and routed the Fire Stick's audio output from the converter to my amplifier which has 7-speaker surround sound. Resulting sound quality is excellent. Picture quality is very good.I was able to keep using my very old trusty Sony TV. Otherwise, I'd have to junk it and add the the ever increasing pile of electronic waste in our landfills.

Works perfectly to replace non-functioning HDMI port
I have an old Samsung TV with one HDMI port, which burned out this winter, following a power surge during a storm. (I wised up and now plug all my electronics into a surge protector strip). My Amazon Fire was also fried. This converter works great plugged into the AV outlets on my TV. Easy to set up (less than 5 minutes). There’s a video online which steps you through the process. Plugged in my new Fire Stick and it worked like a charm! I would definitely recommend this. It certainly is less expensive than purchasing a new smart tv.

Worked Perfectly
We wanted to hook up a new Roku to our older HDTV that does not have an HDMI port. This worked flawlessly.

It Works for Me with Speakers
The setup was easy, and it worked great, but with no sound. My 18 y.o. Zenith TV only has the white and yellow jacks for the cables. I was expecting the device to combine the stereo channels into a single mono channel like the Dish hopper does. There are other products out there, but I couldn't find that any will do this. Instead, I had to plug computer speakers into the headphone jack to get the sound. Now it works. Occasionally, the color bars will flash, but I think that might be due to my router not having the strongest signal. I don't know how this would work without having cable, satellite or a converter box for an analog TV, however. So I can watch my favorites while cooking, although now there is a jumble of cables on the kitchen counter! Will have to figure a way to tidy that up.

Easy to install and use
I've gotten this recommendation for onyko receiver for my year 2010 flat screen tv with those traditional red white and yellow plugs and HDMI plug ins. I want to use the Fire stick (can access youtube ap and internet apps) for surround sound. In the past, I've tried to connect to the tv ins and out but no success. I used different mode like dvd, cd, video 1 and 2 but no success. I have this receiver since 2007. I was so disappointed. I thought my receiver was broken. Even when I tested the speakers, it work, but no sound received from Fire Stick.I gave up planning to donate the speakers. But I gave one more chance before donating it. I started to search online for solutions. Then an outdated website stated use this HDMI to AV. Direct it to the receiver and then you can get it to work.So I purchased this converter hoping it will work. It comes with the three prong red white and yellow connectors audio/video component and electric source. It was shipped in a shiny thin box with the instruction manual.I was rushing myself to see if it work, without reading the manual. (Come on, it only has basic connectors, not complex) At first it didn't. Reason: I connected to the tv, not the receiver. So I fixed it, connected to "In" connectors in the receiver. Then got another audio/video component (they only supply one component) and connect to the "out" plugs and connect it to the tv. Bang! It finally work!!! After all the years and frustration (even Best Buy wasn't able to help me, they just gave me more HDMI cables). So, YES, this is 100% helpful converter! I am so happy, I can play New Year Vietnamese /American songs through the speakers!!!

Bleiden converter - Great for an older TV
After purchasing a 2nd fire stick on prime day I was disappointed to discover our older plasma TV in the playroom doesn't have an HDMI port. Searched for a converter & bought this one based on the good reviews. I received the converter today (thank you two-day prime shipping) & it literally took 5 minutes to set up. I am currently enjoying silence as the kids watch cartoons in the other room. Yay! I think thirty bucks is a high price considering it's more than I spent on the fire stick itself but it's a lot cheaper than buying a new TV right? It's day one and working great but I will update my review if I have any problems with it. It was boxed very nicely and included easy to follow instructions.

works as promised, very useful device
I purchased this device in the hope it would to enable me to record HDMI sources using my old VCR/DVD recorder. These recorders are no longer manufactured but I believe I am not the only one who is happy to still have one in good working condition. Most - possibly all - of these models accept composite video input but not HDMI input. With this device, I can record output from my Amazon box, converting the HDMI output to composite video. In fact, I also was able to record from my iPhone, stringing together (a) a device that converts from lightning to HDMI with (b) this device to then convert from HDMI to composite video. The quality of the DVD recordings is definitely acceptable for my purposes. There is some shrinking and stretching of images which is probably inevitable going from HDMI to older video formats. A video "professional" or "purist" may be troubled by that, but as I wrote, I found the DVD recordings surprisingly pleasant to view, when one considers the downscaling from an HDMI source, and the numerous conversion steps. I'm curious to see how the DVD recordings look if played on an upscaling DVD player.NOTE: The majority of surviving DVD recorders as noted don't take HDMI input, but some of them do take SVHS or even component video input, so Bleiden please consider adding a product with SVHS and/or component video output!
