Hawaiian Silky no lye relaxer, regular, White, 20 Ounce

This is a Very Good hair relaxer. I like the medium strength and it makes your hair feel soft, smooth and silky.

Husband loves this which is why we purchased it.

The only relaxer that does not take my wife's hair out, it doesn't burn, and your hair literally comes out smoothly.

I'd like to preface by saying I have no experience with hair relaxers at all. I got the "regular" version and was a bit worried that I would burn or lose my hair so I did test strand a random spot and I didn't seem to have any negative effects at all BUT I'm sure it's only because I have no experience with relaxers, I didn't expect it to smell so bad and continue to smell after multiple shampoo rinses! I'm fairly confident the girlys with experience know this because I didn't notice anyone mention it in the reviews so I assume it is standard. (Skip the next paragraph if you don't want my backstory lol) I actually bought this product specifically because I cut my bangs just before the new year (picture 3) and although I don't hate the curly bang look, it was a hassle to maintain and style daily. Then I considered flat ironing them every morning but that was also a hassle so I decided to check out this hair relaxer thing! Besides the strand test, I've only used this once on my bangs for about 10 minutes total (not really an application time for such a small area) but during that time I was like flattening/tugging lightly the hair in the direction I wanted the bangs to go. The next day dried result is the picture 2 with rosy cheek filter. So not pin straight but nowhere near as curly as the before (picture 3). I wasn't going for pin straight so I do like the results. The final picture (picture 1) I included was immediately after my first hair wash shower 3 days later. Seems to still be relaxed after hair washing number 1. Will try to remember to update to include how it fares after a few more washes. Another thing, I got some on a part of my forehead without knowing and when I tell you it buuurned lol. I was pretty good with not going down to the roots/scalp, just a few mm above but I could tell it would have burned/itched if I had applied to scalp, like the heat or something radiating was obvious.

Maybe this was a rogue jar, but it did not relax my hair. I got it for touch ups because the first time I used this it worked wonderfully. This time my new growth would not straighten, and I even left it in a little longer. I went back to a boxed relaxer.

I returned this because it contains ingredients known to cause cancer. I try to stay away from chemicals like that.
