Lasts for YEARS w/o refrigeration & SUPER-concentrated
I bought this Nov. of 2012, opened it, used it for a little while then stuck it up in the cupboard of my RV and forgot all about it. I found it a couple weeks ago. I was astounded to find it's still fresh, tastes just fine, and I'm eating it with no ill effects whatsoever (amazing considering it's about 120 degrees in the motorhome for many months of the year). I bought it when I was on an ultra-low-fat diet, and since I'm returning to it (sadly, the Paleo diet hasn't worked for me), I was most happy to reacquaint myself with this marvelous product. BTW, for anyone who might be interested, prior to buying the PB2 I got the book Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease: The Revolutionary, Scientifically Proven, Nutrition-Based Cure , by Dr. Esselstyn, which eliminates nearly ALL fat from the diet, along with processed foods. The book is fascinating, based on his work with people dying of heart disease, at death's door. Although it was, will be cheating a tiny bit to incorporate the PB2, I plan to shave a few fat calories elsewhere. This diet worked spectacularly well for me, I lost 30 pounds in a matter of months, like 10 lbs a month, felt better and my blood pressure and bad cholesterol went down. But over the last couple of years I've... slipped, gained back a few pounds. I read up on the Paleo diet, and since I love meat, eggs, etc. I gave it a try. As I said, it simply doesn't work for me, perhaps it's my genotype. I've determined that I simply can't mix carbs and fats, one or the other has to go (and since fat has more than twice the calories of carbs, and since I need to shed pounds, it's a no-brainer as to which). When on the Esselstyn diet, I added very small amounts of ground turkey breast (e.g., to vegetarian chili, to make tacos, etc.), used Kraft fat-free cheese too, and nonfat Greek yoghurt, especially the plain as a sour cream substitute (I love it, actually prefer it to sour cream, use it as a veggie dip too). These technically aren't permitted any more than the PB2, but the diet worked anyway as long as I didn't go overboard. Anyway, the PB2 is like peanut butter on steroids- super-concentrated flavor (of course it would be, with all the liquids removed). What I mainly wanted to say is that I don't bother to mix it with water. I spread "no sugar added" jam (such as Smucker's Simply Fruit), something decadent yet healthy (organic would be better, of course), on good bread (such as Dave's), then sprinkle the PB2 lightly over the jam. Amazing how little is needed- the flavor is so concentrated and rich a little goes a long way. I use maybe a level tablespoon or so. Tastes great, and at least to me just like a normal PB&J. I'm sure there are other things that could be done with it, like sprinkling it on Greek nonfat yoghurt, regular or frozen. All the satisfying taste of peanut butter (even MORE), without all the fat! This stuff ROCKS!

Perfectly Versatile and tasty
I bought this particular item as a gift for my god daughter who is a nutrionist and like to eat more healthy items. I too have eaten this product. I remember when it came out it was super hard to get. I could only get it on Amazon! Later stores like Whole Foods and other healthy living stores began to stock it making it easier to obtain. I ordered this through Amazon because they make it so easy to gift things to others. I love PB2 because it does contain less fat and calories... it tastes good...and it is so versatile. It is a powder... you add a tiny bit of water and voile! Peanut butter. You can make a tablespoon full or a more... 1/2 cup.. etc. My sister uses it a lot in her daycare business. You can make it more saucy (less of a spread and more of sauce) and add a bit of hot sauce of you choice and you've got a pad thai peanut sauce. You can add to smoothies. Oatmeal... the list goes on. I've even added a bit of coconut as a spread. Awesome! The peanut flavor is slight less strong as regular peanut butter. But I have also found that just a tiny pinch of sea salt develops a bit more flavor. Honestly, if you love peanut butter. you are trying to eat more healthy food, you really should get just one jar and try it. In the years since they first offered this peanut butter powder they have developed other flavors.. chocolate peanut butter powder.... cookie/crackers... etc. If you seach PB2, you can see what is available. Hope this is a little helpful

Delicious taste, easy to use.
I am a very active four-year vegetarian with a sweet tooth- however, I have a very slow metabolism. Due to this, it can be difficult to get the protein I need without resorting to whey supplements or eating very high-calorie natural options which often contain lots of fat. This product has so far been a great "snack" to have around the house or incorporate into meals for me, as it has all the appeal of a non-synthesized protein source without the excess of fat, calories or sugars. It is easy to mix as per the directions on the package, and has a lovely texture as a paste or added into smoothies or baked goods. It is a little saltier than your classic sandwich spread due to its lack of added sugar (which I actually like as I pair it with fruit), though the addition of some honey or other sweetener while mixing is easy enough. My father is a low-carb carnivore and nut lover, so we don't always see eye to eye on our food choices- though I think I may have finally found a product that we can both get behind. This is going into his stocking at Christmas.

Finally Found It!
I've been searching for a healthier alternative to regular peanut butter for quite some time: reduced fat options, Better 'n Peanut Butter, organic peanut butters... I think that I finally found it. P2B tastes pretty much exactly like traditional peanut butter, but it lacks the same creamy texture and that slightly sweet aftertaste. Per their instructions, you mix the peanut powder with water to form a peanut butter-like spread. I've found that using water isn't ideal if you're planning to pair your peanut butter with things like toast, crackers, or other dry foods. Instead, I tend to substitute with light soy milk for a slightly creamier spread. Water will work fine if you're looking to have peanut butter by itself or if you're going to pair it with "wetter" foods (bananas, sliced apples, etc). I also love adding P2B to shakes, pancake mix, and baked goods for a slight peanut butter taste and a little extra bit of protein. In terms of nutritional content, P2B is GREAT. It's all natural and has 45 calories, 5g of carbs, and 2g of fiber per serving (2 tablespoons of powder = 1 serving). It's made with only 3 ingredients: roasted peanuts, sugar, and salt. No additives. I will say that 2 tablespoons of powder turn into about 2 teaspoons of spread after you add your wet ingredients. A bottle has lasted me about a month, but I only eat small amounts of peanut butter 3 or 4 times a week. The only downside to P2B is that you have to mix it up every time that you're going to eat it. Traditional peanut butter is way more convenient in that it's ready-to-go... you just pop open the lid and get what you need. Sometimes I'll use traditional peanut butter instead of my P2B when I'm in a hurry or when I'm feeling downright lazy. I can't really complain, though, as the calories you save and the other nutritional benefits more than make up for it. I will definitely be keeping a jar of P2B in my pantry from now on... it's a new staple in my diet.

Peanut Butter Flavor without the Peanut Butter Guilt
I love high-octane peanut butter, but not the fat/calorie content. TASTE: If you are accustomed to low-salt or raw products, the taste will be fine. If someone in the house balks at the taste, you can toss in a dash of fine sea salt or honey (agave works well too). You could easily mix PB2 with PB to wean onto this gradually. TEXTURE: Mixes fast and is very smooth (surprisingly). From the jar, it's similar in consistency to powdered sugar. Open factory seal on jar carefully so it doesn't fly out (trust me). MIXING: Easily mixes using a small spoon or spatula in a gently sloping small bowl (I use a pinch bowl) USAGE: PB2 has recipes on their website (Bell Plantation) and they also sell a chocolate/pb product. I'm a fan of straight PB2 (a spoon by itself) but have had PB2 on crackers, sprinkled on banana/apple slices, and am looking forward to making homemade PB2 ice cream this summer. STORAGE: I was a bit disappointed at shelf life projection. As a dry product, it should last for years but the company says 10-12 months unopened and 4-6 opened. I would prefer to buy the larger sizes or a case to save more. COST: It can be obtained cheaper elsewhere (like on the PB2 website) but I had free shipping purchases to offset the cost. I wanted to try just one jar before committing to a larger sized container from the company. If you purchase natural products, the price won't be such a shock. BIGGEST PROS: lower calorie and fat content - hands down the best. Dogs like it too ;) BIGGEST CONS: high cost and not a product you can 'make ahead' very successfully (though this could be considered a "PRO" because it helps with portion control. I make it as needed. This product will not change your life, but it will satisfy your peanut butter cravings.

Love this stuff!!
This powdered peanut butter is amazing!! I only use it for smoothies so I'm not sure how it is in other things, but I'm sure you can get creative. I really hate bananas and I would always try to eat them when I was pregnant b/c of the horrible leg cramps you're prone to when pregnant. Bananas are pretty intolerable to me and I'd have to eat one with gobs of peanut butter on it. I can across this product and thought I'd give it a try. I tried both flavors and prefer the one with chocolate. (Can anything really top peanut butter with chocolate?) I make a smoothie with a frozen banana, lots of spinach, skim milk and a few tablespoons of PB2. I love that it tastes like a peanut butter smoothie without a ton of added calories and fat. A few people said it was expensive, but it's cheaper here on Amazon than when it's super on sale at our local grocery store. It also goes a long way. I guess if you're buying it to mix & use as peanut butter, maybe it is...but If you're using it as a lower calorie way to add great chocolate peanut butter flavor to your smoothies, it's togally worth the price. I think I've bought 3 pounds of it in the last year. I'm not pregnant anymore but I still make smoothies a few times a week. It's a great way to basically eat a small salad at breakfast without actually having to. It's my go-to meal when I'm having to rush out the door with the kids. Love this stuff!!

Healthy substitute for peanut butter
I just got my PB2 in the mail today, and I was very curious as to how it would taste. I was pleasantly surprised! No, it does not taste as good as peanut butter, but considering it has 85% less fat, it is pretty darn good! I'm on Weight Watchers and I'm always trying to find substitutions to stick to my points. 2 tbsp of PB2 is equal to 1 Weight Watcher's Points Plus point. 2 tbsp of full fat peanut butter is 5 points. However, 2 tbsp of PB2 does not equal 2 tbsp of peanut paste, so you have to keep that in mind. It would probably take about 3 tbsp of PB2 to get 2 full tbsp of paste. Anyways, I added 2 tbsp of PB2 to a Jell-O pudding cup (the sugar free), and it was delicious! It tasted like a Reese's Cup. I was able to add some protein and flavor to my dessert, and the entire thing was 3 points. PB2 does have a bit of a gritty consistency like protein powder, but it didn't bother me. I'm not sure I would eat this off of the spoon, but I will definitely use it in PB&J sandwiches, shakes and other recipes for peanut butter flavor. I read somewhere that mixing it with Greek yogurt is very good as a protein-packed fruit dip.

Pretty good.
A good substitute for regular PB which is nearly triple the calories for 2 tablespoons. Very versatile and can be spread on your toast, mixed with protein shakes or added in your anabolic ice cream.
