Is the height of the door 27” or more (including arc)?

The Summer Extra Wide Décor Safety Baby gate arched door is 27 inches tall and the extensions are 25 inches tall.

does this product work at stair top 45inches wide?

Yes, as long as there is at least 3" of wall on each side of the stair to mount the support brackets onto. It will probably take 2 of the 3 provided extensions for a 45" wide opening.

Can this be installed against a banister and wall or is there too much tension for a banister?

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend using it against a banister, especially if it is being used for safety purposes. We used it between a banister and wall strictly to keep a puppy from going upstairs and it worked well until we got her trained. The downside was that in order to get enough tension for a strong hold, it ended up denting the sheetrock.

Does the slate one need to be lifted to close? The bronze you have to lift the gate and Line it up to close

The Secure Space Extra-Wide Gate is equipped with an auto-close feature that gently closes the gate door behind you, as well as a hold-open mechanism that keeps the door open when needed.
