What is the difference between this item and carbquik?

Carbquik is like Bisquik and has carbalose in it. Carbalose is wheat flour with the starch removed.  I use them both and am thrilled they are available. The taste of carbalose  isn't exactly the same as flour but it behaves pretty similarly. It tends to be a little bitter. So when I make pasta with it I make sure to have a flavorful sauce like alfredo. With the Carbquik I've made great pancakes and also tasty sausage gravy.  Neither caused a ripple in my blood sugar readings.  YMMV

I've kept it in my pantry for over a year, and it's kind of warm in my pantry. Just used some today to make biscuits. Delicious! I'm a picky eater, and can detect off tastes immediately, and the biscuits were perfect! Got the recipe for cream biscuits on lowcarbscam.com.

Has anyone used this in a bread machine?  Can you share the recipe?

I bake carbalose bread in my mini bread machine that calls for 2 cups flour: I use 1 1/2 cups carbalose and 1/2 cup vital wheat gluten. I use more yeast than called for: one TBS rather than 1/4 tsp, usually about a half TBS sugar for the yeast, one TBS olive oil, more water- 3/4 cup instead of 2/3, 1/2 tsp salt, and I add 1/8 tsp xanthun gum. i mix all the dry ingredients together except yeast, pour in the water and oil then add the flour mixture. Make a well for the yeast and you're done! I don't add splenda gtts that most carbalose recipes call for, I actually like the taste of the bread without it!. Makes a mini loaf good for the two of us, oh, and bake on 2 hour setting cause it only needs one rise. I tried the other longer settings and it made the loaf fall.
