Clementine really wants to practice her first-aid skills, but her brother presents an unexpected challenge in a sweet, funny story from Simon James. It’s Clementine Brown’s birthday, and Mr. and Mrs. Brown have given her a nurse’s outfit and a first-aid kit — just what she wanted! There is no shortage of emergencies that need her attention (and her liberal use of bandages): Mr. Brown’s stubbed toe, Mrs. Brown’s headache, even Wellington the dog’s tender paw. But her brother, Tommy, is a different matter. Even though he keeps crashing into things, he insists that he doesn’t need a nurse. Clementine is sad — nurses really need someone to help. But could it be that when a real emergency occurs, her skills will be needed? Review: Fantastic Book!! - I have a 4 year old daughter and twin 3 year old sons and they all love this book. The words are so cute and life-like. I especially love the family love that shines through! The pictures are simple but cute. Fantastic book with a sweet, fun story!!! Review: Lovely Book - A few months ago, I purchased a rag doll to give as a gift. The girl doll was dressed in an old fashioned nurse's outfit with head cap ; and I wanted to find a book for a 2-3 year old to go with it. The only book that I could find picturing that head cap was "Nurse Nancy", so I ordered it. It was published in the '50's , when I was a little girl, but although the art work was nostalgic ( the drawings reminded me of my 1st grade reader - "Fun With Dick and Jane", ); I thought that the parents of my gift recipient might object to the tone of the book ( out of date gender roles --candy pills, etc.) ( You can read my negative review on the Nurse Nancy review page) Since that purchase, a recently published book " Nurse Clementine " has just been offered on desertcart, so I purchased it, solely based on the cute drawing on the cover. I am very pleased with this book. A 6 year old would like it, but it's clear enough to hold the interest of a 2-3 year old. The drawings are cute and funny, and nothing in it should be objectionable. In the story, a little girl named Clementine receives a medical kit as a birthday gift, and practices her nursing skills on her family members. No matter the symptoms, everyone seems to require a lot of bandages --- left on for a week!

Cute story and drawings !
Beautiful little story and drawings. Perfect for any kid that aspires to be a doctor or a nurse like our little 6 year old. She went through this stage with her new little doctor kit and wanted to bandage everyone :) She had to giggle many times through this book !

Adorable read!
I bought this to read to my son's pre school class as part of a "Promote Nursing" profession -- teamed this with play nurse/doctor toys and coloring books. It was a big hit, especially the bandage part since the 4 year olds wanted to then practice bandaging each other! Clementine is a great nurse, we should all be so lucky!
