Replacement YEF-80 Fan with Base and Lights for Gemmy Airblown Inflatables

This company is the best. One of my inflatable motor was dead, and this one fixed it. It is reasonably priced, as I will get more season out of the inflatable now. The lights are much brighter than the old ones, and it is much quieter when compared to the old motor. The install on the other hand is easy, but requires patience because everything needs to be undone carefully. This is a really good item for drop in place replacement for GEMMY products.

After two years our tow mater inflatable blower decided it was done two days before Christmas. After looking at everything the brand was the same and the blower looked similar to this, but I couldn’t find a model number anywhere on the original blower. I decided to give it a shot, the only hiccup on the new blower was a light bulb was out. I didn’t feel like waiting for a replacement so I took a bulb off the old one which worked. Otherwise the hardest part of replacing it was putting the new bulbs in place. The ultimate test will be next year, as I only plugged it in twice this time to make sure everything worked. *Update has been up for a week and is doing great!

I had a large inflatable where the motor stopped spinning so I ordered this as a replacement and it has the same motor same number of lights however the string of lights is shorter than the one I had so I had to splice in some of the old string in the new string to get the lights where they were supposed to go at the end it worked

I attached this to a 20-ft long snake inflatable, so it sits out outside of the inflatable exposed. Very, very easy just to cinch the fabric tube from the inflatable to the neck of the fan housing. I"m not the least bit worried about the fan being exposed to the elements because (1) the top is solid, not vented for water to drip through and (2) it's elevated on fold-out legs above any wet lawn. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is that the lights are incandescent, not LED, so they get hot quickly. Because my snake is horizontal, they would be easily touching the fabric, and that worried me with the heat, so I didn't thread them in (plus snake's LED light string had a separate plug and still worked). Instead I used the lights to mark the spider's path on a giant cobweb hanging from the roof. I also though I could use them to build a ghost with a pvc frame and light from within.

I have the Gemma Spooky house with rotating Frankenstein head and spider hanging in the arch way. I do love it! The original fan was no longer working and it was easy to install this new fan. This new fan IS NOT POWERFUL enough to properly inflate the house archway. I tried several things, I spent at least 5 hours looking for holes and trying different ways to build an exto skeleton to support it. I sort of hung it between a ladder and flag pole.

With the right tool (torx bits) replacing the motor in our Gemmy Winnie the Pooh was fairly easy. It works great! We are pleased with the process and outcome.

In 2024, I purchased a replacement fan for an inflatable that has been in a center piece in our Christmas decorations for eight years. The replacement performed admirably for four weeks, after which it was stored for future use. Upon setting up our Christmas lighting and the inflatable with the 2024 replaced fan, I discovered that the fan was no longer operational only the lights inside the inflatable were operating. Consequently, I had to sideline the inflatable, which my children greatly enjoy, and well have to acquire another replacement fan. I will need to source a replacement from an alternative manufacturer, as the cost of the fan exceeds that of the inflatable itself. We are quite disappointed with the quality of this replacement fan and would not recommend this product.
