Butterfly Spreading Board - Students

Cheap porous styrofoam, subject to staining, crumbling and not worth 14.95, maybe 1.49. No slant for wing setting, just a groove cut in a styrofoam block.

This is a flat piece of styrofoam with a channel cut through it. I am used to butterfly spreading boards that at least have a little angle for the wings. The foam is the cheapest grade possible. I don't think it will last long in our household. Disappointed.

My husband and son use these for entomology projects. They have since learned to make their own, but this is high quality.

I just recently got into insect pinning and this was just the right piece at the right price for me. I pinned some butterflies and moths down the middle and a few other insects on the side. Plenty of room to work on several things at once. I would definitely buy this again.

I am not a professional when it comes to preserving moths but this is an inexpensive way to get started. So I would recommend it for all those who are new to this hobby.
