I’ve been using the Lumma high for a year now and I wont be looking back. I’ve used pads, tampons and cups and this is the best balance of a tampon and a cup in my opinion. it will take 1/2 cycles to get used to it as with any menstrual product but it works great, Easy to put in as it folds thinly (enough for me) and very easy to push behind pelvic bone as you can feel it. No hassle with suction, pain or cramps as I used to have with cups. I cant feel it once its in there just like a tampon. I then just tuck the string in, leaving it out means you can feel it so I wouldn't recommend leaving it out. Catches everything and auto-dump works for me, so going to the toilet means I can empty it without removal. Making day 2 easy for me. Removal is easy because of the ‘string’, no need to bear down or search, the string is right by the entrance so I can easily pull it down, because its flexible, its painless. I wear it by itself or on day 2 I’ll wear a thin pantyliner if I’m out and about and won’t always have a toilet. Would definitely recommend discs for anyone who doesn’t prefer pads and tampons and hasn’t liked cups. It’s comfortable, easy, painless.

Review update: The company kindly sent me another size free of charge which is a MUCH better fit, the quality is very good and I'm getting on with this size MUCH better, however, I have advised them that adding inches or cms to the measurement chart would be much more accurate for the reasons listed in my original review, hopefully they'll take this on board and include that in their measurement guide. I used the guide shown how to measure your cervix, however it doesn't state WHEN in your cycle to do this, also I think it's very inaccurate because what if you have longer or shorter fingers than the average person?! I did as was stated the day before my cycle and according to the chart, a medium is my size, however, it arrived today (a day after taking the measurement) and my period has begun, but finding it too small, I had to bear down in order to reach it to remove (I cut the string off as it was uncomfortable). Aside from the sizing issues, it appears (from what I can tell from 1 day of use) to be good quality, I just wish I was able to return for the next size up and can't afford to just buy another size at this price.

This product arrived super quickly, but that happened to be on the last day of my period. I washed and boiled it and gave it a go, so easy to use. I had watched some tips videos on Period Nirvana so was well prepared but found it MUCH easier than my moon cup. As my flow was very light I can’t give a thorough review but there was no leakage, no discomfort and the string gave me so much peace of mind. Super duper easy removal and I love there is no suction and no seal to break. We all know a reason for buying this is mess free period seggs and this product didn’t disappoint (though as I was so light it wasn’t a super good test), we could both feel it (no discomfort or issues with that though), I tucked the string inside as I was worried it would be annoying so needed to bare down to help with removal but it was easy. All in all very pleased and will absolutely be using for my next period.

I bought the smallest size Lumma disc, and as they advertise it as suitable for "no problem" period sex, I tried having sex with it in. I hadn't realised that having sex with a disc in scrapes all your natural fluids out of the way, and was concerned at how often I had to reapply lube. I took the disc out afterwards, switched to a very small, soft cup for the night, and then to pads. After several days of bladder pain and feeling very ill, my GP took a urine sample, diagnosed a urinary tract infection, and put me on a course of antibiotics. I've been using menstrual cups for twenty years. I know how to use them, wash them, how to use lube appropriately during sex and so on. I'm fine having non-penetrative sex with a menstrual cup in. This was a serious bladder irritant. It slots up behind your cervix nicely, even with a low cervix, but the rim is very firm and presses against your bladder. The shape is similar to a diaphragm, and some people find that diaphragms cause UTIs as well. Thankfully, Amazon refunded me when I spoke to them about this problem, and realised how concerning it was. Lumma did not respond helpfully when I emailed them.

The product is very soft and so easy to insert compared to a cup however I opted for a small but during my cycle my cervix is higher which I didn’t realise and the cup is too small - it leaks a lot and is hard to get out. Can’t afford another one at the moment which is a shame as I think a bigger size would be perfect for me

Excellent product! As a complete newbie to alternative menstrual Products I found this being my first menstrual disc or even menstrual cup a fantastic experience! I’m blind so I found it required a bit of trial and error to work out which way up to insert the cup but once I had figured it out it was fine. The insertion instructions could be a little bit more clearer text wise but the cup itself is great! I found it very easy to insert and the string was slightly too long so I trimmed it and that definitely increased the comfort level. I don’t know I have it inserted and at the moment I am just experimenting with it and have it in just in case I begin a period. For anyone who encounters the confusion I did, the menstrual disk should be inserted with the rim at the very top and the string on the top edge of the rim not on the bottom edge of the rim as it comes out of the box. I found the best way for me to insert it is to do it squatting right down on the floor so that it is easier to get an idea of when the first part of the cup is at the cervix. I have also found that rinsing it underwater and inserting it damp makes it easier to insert.

Bin hier bei Amazon drauf gestoßen (bis dato dachte ich, Discs sind immer Wegwerfartikel), habe dann aber auf Period Nirvana (videos bei YT) etliche Rezensionen gesehen und wie man sie richtig anwendet. Eine Offenbarung!! Meine Periode ist in den ersten zwei Tagen sehr stark, sodass ich mit normalen Periodenprodukten eigentlich das Haus nicht verlassen kann. Außerdem habe ich in den beiden Tagen sehr starke Schmerzen. Menstruationstassen nehmen mehr auf und ich hätte damit ein paar Stunden (6-8) Ruhe, wenn sie denn richtig sitzen würden… ich habe leider noch keine gefunden, die wirklich „dicht“ ist. ABER: Diese Disc sitzt einfach perfekt !! Sie ist wirklich kaum zu spüren (bis auf den Rückholstring) und die Anwendung ist super intuitiv und selbsterledigend (trotzdem ist das Tutorial von period nirvana echt hilfreich!!)… ich bin begeistert! Ich hatte so Angst vor Periode + Strand im Urlaub und jetzt weiß ich, es kann nichts schief gehen. Ich würde noch mehr Sterne vergeben, wenn es denn gehen würde! <3

Super Funktion !

I had been thinking of swapping to a menstrual cup for a few months, due to my flow increasing. My research led me to discs instead as better for first time users that never had kids. This was the first time I tried a disc and I found it extremely easy to figure out. Once it's in you can not feel it at all, the cord tickled sometimes but I just had to tuck it in. I worn it for five days straight, at home and at work, and it didn't leak once. Absolutely loved not having to worry about changing pads during shifts. I guess discs are indeed a game changer and I can 100% recommend this one!

Das ist wider Erwarten eine super tolle und dichte Tasse! Habe schon mehrere ausprobiert, die entweder nicht richtig dicht waren oder gedrückt haben. Diese ist perfekt. Ich habe einen verkürzten Gebärmutterhals und nichts drückt mehr. Und Größe S ist absolut ausreichend. Der Faden war mir zu lang und habe ihn einfach gekürzt. Super toll!
