This product is great as I needed it to stop my autistic son kept pulling out the plug and breaking it and it stopped him getting to the plug now to keep him safe. **Note** Don't be an idiot like me and fit it in without isolating the electricity... Trust me.

Absolutely thrilled with this product, it is exactly as described and stops our children messing with the socket. It's very durable and strong, they have tried to pull it off a few times and it doesn't budge. Fits perfectly and was easy to install.

This product is literally for babies since they won't know how to open the box never mind a lock...unless they're squirrels! In terms of build-quality, this is poor. The box fits with 2 tiny open lugs which are "meant to" fit around the 2 socket plate screws; I'm sure you'll agree that socket plate screws are damn hard enough to align with the holes inside the back box never mind trying to hold this box (open) over the socket front plate. It is annoyingly and un-necessarily designed to be difficult! Even if you do manage to get the 2 open-lugs to sit around the socket plate screws, the whole cover rocks vertically since it is poorly designed. There is a double-sided sticky pad-thingy which is meant for the back of this cover so you can stick it to a wall; it will not stick on a socket cover plate since the opening at the back is neither big enough to allow the socket plate to come through (an into) the cover, and not small enough to stick at the front of the socket plate. All this sounds confusing? It's really not; buy this if you want but when you come to fit it, you'll find it annoyingly difficult. So, as I say, it is not a socket cover to protect from accidentally switching of your telly or your fridge; it is a box to stop babies sticking their fingers into a socket, for which, we all know there are cheaper little flat covers which plug into the socket. So that leaves me wondering what kind of baby warrants having a lock on this product. balmy!

Easy to fit, good quality

Need to remove and refit the existing switchplate or socket - 60mm UK standard spacing between the switchplate screws. That means undoing and refitting the electric wiring (so make sure its off at the fusebox). The rewiring can be awkward, depending on the existing slack in the wires. Got it for pensioner with memory problems, to safeguard a cooker on/off switch. It feels like it could fit the purpose well.
