How do you remove this?

Go to YouTube and type in Eudomon door Lever lock. It's a video which shows you how to fit the lock on the door handle. It also shows the lock being removed. They just pull it off the door.. It doesn't leave any sticky residue.

Could a 7 year old operate this? I want to allow her to use the doors but not her brother.

You can tell your child how to operate the lock. Since locking requires three buttons to be operated by two hands, it may be a little difficult for the child to lock and may be relatively easy to unlock, depending on the child's finger strength.

Does this stay stuck long-term? Thanks

Yes have two on painted doors will take off paint if removed but would say that they saved me putting up and taking down safety gates for one daily visit a week after few weeks you don't notice them very happy
