We spent ages looking at a variety of beds ranging from £400 to £1,200 but they all seemed too expensive for my tight purse. Storage was important but each time we spoke to a member of the traditional stores staff they instilled all the virtues of a bed plus it was delivered and fitted for that price. Returning home we chose to look online and found this bed on many of the high street stores but again for £250 upwards with the exception of this seller. Now the old adage is "too good to be true" echoed as we read the reviews. Well I have to say that these reviews were spot on. It is an excellent bed, well manufactured. The only reviews I would disagree with are the ones referring to the confusing instructions. As far as I am concerned they were very clear, it took about 2 hours to install at a pace that suited me and my frozen shoulder. Plus for the 2 hours I spent it was considerably cheaper than buying direct from the traditional retail stores and I was still able to buy from a UK based company, an added bonus! Overall I would say that this bed is superb for storage, well priced, moderately easy to construct and supports a UK business.

Great ottoman bed at a fantastic price. The assembly was slightly tricky but I managed to complete it all in around 1 and a half hours on my own. The storage is quite limited inside but you can can store lots if it isn’t too high. So lower storage boxes or lay things flat is best. The storage has a material sheet that sits on your floor. This is fine if on the first floor. If you are using this on a ground floor it could cause damp issues. I would recommend buying a cheap ratchet set for the assembly it will cut the time required massively to make it up. It is sturdy and does not have any dents or defects. Well made. Looks like it will last long. The lift on the bed isn’t very high but enough to get your items in and out. As you won’t really be opening and closing too often this should not be an issue. For the price I think this is a fantastic buy and highly recommended.

Unless you are adept at putting things together despite the instructions stay away from this bed base. It’s actually quite good once you have completed the krypton factor test of making a lift up bed from a set of unidentified parts. Yes, the instructions list everything, but give you no clues as to which part is which. Thankfully it’s fairly obvious, but the instructions are the most unhelpful set I have come across. Firstly, it comes in 2 boxes. One has the headboard the other has the base sides and pieces of metal frame. After opening them you wonder where everything else is. I won’t tell you, have fun figuring it out! Basically you put 2 sides, a headboard and footboard together to form the base, then make a metal frame that forms the lift up part. It’s so easy to get the metal frame wrong as there is no guidance! Luckily I spotted that the sides must go a particular way so the holes for attaching the frame to the lifting mechanism are at the right end (and same end!). You are then left pretty much on your own to figure out how to attach the frame to the lifting mechanism while attaching 2 cross bars at the same time. The instructions miss out completely how to attach the gas lift struts. Oh, and don’t be too worried about it springing open with no mattress on, it’s not that violent. Quality wise it’s a bit lacking. The supplied Allen keys round off and are useless. Use your own. Some of the threaded inserts in the headboard and baseboard are rather tight, either because fabric is jammed in them or the threads were damaged during insertion. There are strips of Velcro all around the bottom of the base on to which you fix a mesh type fabric, which is slightly too big. On mine, one of the Velcro strips was half hanging off and the fabric had holes in. Despite these criticism, which are more about the instructions than the product, I am quite pleased with my purchase. Indeed, the supplier did not hesitate in sending a replacement piece of fabric. It looks good, feels strong and appears to be good value for money. The missing star is down to the dreadful instructions and quality niggles.

I’m so satisfied with this purchase! It was easy to assemble, it took us less than 1 hour in two people, but we took it really easy. I bought this mostly because of the storage space underneath (i put my lugagges) and it was considerably cheaper than other I saw here and it didn’t disappoint as you can see on the pictures, it’s beautiful. The only thing, since it is faux leather it is easy to scratch especially when assembling it! So be careful! P.S. when putting down the frame for the first time I recommend putting the mattress already as it helps with the weight, push it with strenght and don’t be afraid to break it cause it is quite rigid.

Bought this bed for my lodger, she absolutely loves it and says the storage is perfect! The price is so reasonable and the quality is good. Not sure why there are reviews saying it is hard to assemble as we had great fun putting it together - it did take the full hour and a half because a couple of the screws were quite stiff but other than that there were no difficulties. Heads up though, when the instructions say “when trying to put the bed back down for the first time it will be stiff” they really mean it! But don’t be afraid to put some weight behind you, as long as you are pushing centrally it will close.

So far I like the look of this bed however putting the bed together was a different story, the instructions don’t give you any indication on what to do all they say is for this part you need to use these bolts and this Allan key etc, the base of the bed was straight forward and ok to assemble however it’s when you get to the frame of the bed where things get complicated, what they should have said in the instruction is that the frame has to be assembles in a certain way otherwise when you get to the end you will have to take it back down again and start over. There are identical pieces in which can be fitted at either end with no indication as to which side they should be. I had to disassemble the frame twice because I would get to then end and find out I needed a hole to fit to the frame which was not there because the bars were the wrong way round , overall so far the bed seems really good, a lot of space in the storage compartment but the Velcro cover that comes with it is not very sturdy, I already have 2 holes in it just from putting items inside. Headboard seems of good quality also.

Really impressed with the small double bed that I bought for my son. 2 of us took a good couple of hours to assemble. The instructions, unfortunately, are not very clear - mainly very small diagrams. It looks great and is very sturdy - although I am concerned that the gas lift arms are not secure, but I shall have another look to see if it was operator error - although I saw nothing on the diagrams about securing them. The only niggle I have is with delivery. Amazon told me to expect the bed on Tuesday 24th, but it actually turned up on Thursday 19th - it was only fluke that I was in to receive delivery. All in all, very pleased with my purchase - and so is my son :) Edit: the gas lift arms are secure, it was a long day and I hadn't fitted them exactly right. I meant to update, but forgot :)

This bed was ok in the beginning but after few months. The room generated a foul smell, I could not figure out what it was as everything looked ok as my apartment was in a very good condition with frequent checks but after few days I realised it's the slates inside the bed were completely damaged by mould(probably because the slates were not dried correctly or something). Anyway I have contacted the seller and he said its not his problem if the of the product is damaged by mould and sent me a an article how mould work lol. I am not sure what to do now as I cannot go back in time and stop myself from buying this bed. I have bought quite a few of similar beds but never faced such issue. I would never buy a bed again from non reputed sellers like this. I have asked the seller for slates which sounds reason given the fact that the slate caused this but the seller won't send any. Now Amazon asked me to return it in order to process the refund which ok but I am not sure how I can refund this as it took me 2 hours to install it. I WOULD SAY DO NOT AGAINST BUY THIS PRODUCT unless you want to waste your time and money.
