The least expensive, most accurate titration kit for the price
This product should not be reviewed as a toy. That said, for about two months now, I've been hard at work researching and learning about test kits for spa water chemistry. I've had several different test setups; three different manufacture's strips, a digital test strip reader and a DPD color comparison kit. This is the fourth setup I've purchased for the purpose of testing spa water for chlorine. The package is a very nice compact package. As in the sales picture, the test kit consists of a blue storage box, instruction sheet, graduated test cylinder with plastic cap and several bottles of test reagent. The test is straight forward. Put a couple measured scoops of DPD powder in the test cylinder and add test reagent by the drop. Count the drops, multiply by 0.20 and voila, you have your ppm count. It takes a few trial runs to get use to the test procedure. Once you're use to the test procedure, plan on about five minutes to complete procedure. Accurate to within 0.10 ppm. A call to customer support set me on the straight and narrow. Very nice support group at Taylor Technologies. I found my other gear isn't even close to what the results of the Taylor K-1515-A test kit were. The other tests were so far off, the results make me wonder. I'll see about picking up an EPA certified test strip for commercial water testing for comparison purposes. All this means is that the EPA has certified the accuracy of the the test strips. Being certified by the EPA is not equivalent to being EPA approved. It just means that test strip company has submitted proof of the accuracy of their claims for a registration number. This way I'll have a final comparator to the results provided by the Taylor K-1515-A chlorine test kit. Overall, my first impressions are, this is a straight forward test kit with no whistles or bells. It is a test kit for free chlorine (FC) and combined chlorine (CC) and nothing more. At this time and point, I have no reason to think this kit isn't as accurate as the manufacture claims. If I find out any differently when I get the other strips in for comparison purposes, or find need to add to this review, I'll stop by and amend my comments accordingly. In the meantime, I feel comfortable highly recommending this product. Hope the above helps.

Most accurate test
This test just works - I have used test strips and walmart test kits and they were inconsistent. Not only that, they couldn't read higher levels of chlorine. This kit works great and is easy to use. Just measure out the water, add 2 scoops of the powder to and stir (water turns red), then simply count drops till the water turns clear. I have a 12' x 30" pool and this kit is indispensable. Since I am adding bleach (chlorine) to my pool that my kids swim in I want to make sure that I have the levels maintained properly for safety. Too high and it can cause skin irritation and bleach swimsuits, too low and you will have a mucky pool with algae, bacteria, and bugs living in. Taylor makes the best quality/accurate kits. Don't buy a cheaper kit because you will end up spending more than the difference on chemicals due to the poor accuracy of the cheaper kits.

Pool-owners' Must-Have
My go-to chlorine test kit (for years). Reliable, easy to use, fair price (in the US). (Would love Taylor to distribute this product more widely in UK and Europe. European resellers are limited and are all about profiteering). Kudos to Amazon for delivering earlier than stated to beat the Thanksgiving "blackout" period.

Expires in a month
Have bought a kit every year the last 3 years and it has worked well. I received this kit 4/7/23, and it has an expiration of 5/23. Not great! Also it’s impossible to send seller feedback or get manufacturer support for this item. The links in the app send me to a different pool product and the site for Taylor guitars, respectively. Anyway if someone sends me a bottle of fas-dpd titration reagent that expires in the fall, I’ll update this review.

More accurate than OTO test but not as good as FAS-DPD
I got this for a bromine hot tub. The OTO test also works for bromine but is notoriously hard to read. This is easier but the problem is the color starts out showing less Bromine than is there and then darkens gradually until it shows more than is there. It is best to read it at about 30 seconds. FAS-DPD which is a powder followed by a titration is the best solution . When the color is gone that is your reading.

DPD power leaks out during shipping
This is good stuff, works well, BUT Amazon & Taylor need to put their head together ... the DPD powder cap keeps popping open during shipping and much of the power leaks out. The two liquid vials have screw caps and stay sealed, but the DPD powder has a press/flip cap which cracks open during shipping. Happened even when shipped in a cardboard shipping box.

Free and Combined Chlorine
Water testing strips are not always reliable for testing chlorine levels. And most test kits only measure Total Chlorine. I like this Taylor test Reagent kit is easy to use and provides an simple way to see my pool's combined and Free chlorine levels separately, which to me is more valuable than a Total Chlorine measurement.
