I’m always skeptical on purchasing anything with a smell to it without actually smelling it first before purchasing. I purchased for my son’s bedroom and I have to say every single one smells great (with the exception of one which smells ok). Keeps my son’s bedroom smelling clean. He loves them as well.

I bought this set to refresh my husband’s Drift car air freshener. Those are a great concept and very visually appealing, but they only last 3-4 weeks, then you have to replace it, which would get very expensive. So I bought these oils to do it myself and save money. A set of 6 bottles for $17 will last all year (probably longer), while buying a new Drift once a month would be about $160+ a year! That’s just insane to spend just to have a nice smelling car. So, again, Drift is a great concept, but not practical. They should sell their scents as oils to refresh the block, rather than a whole new block. Okay, enough about Drift. These oils smell just as I’d expect from their description. My husband really likes them, and we’re excited to play with combinations. I really love the drip top, which makes use easy and mess-free. The consistency of the oil also seems great. It’s not watery, so when I applied it to the block, there was no issues with it beading or quickly running off the edge. I was able to cleanly cover the top of the block and gently move it around to evenly distribute. I left it to absorb in a plastic baggie overnight, and the next day, it was absorbed and smelled great again. I don’t know yet how long this will last, but if it’s comparable to Drift’s 3-4 weeks, it’ll be a huge win. If it only lasts a few days, I’ll update this review. I’m not an oil expert, and I’m not even sure these are marketed as “essential oils,” even though some reviewers are comparing them to that. But I do know what scents are supposed to smell like and what an oil consistency is, and I’d buy these again and again. Very pleased and satisfied.

Nice variety at a good price

I ordered this set of scented oils along with a set from another company and I'm glad I ordered both because the second set of oils was disappointing. My main goal was to find scented oils that I could combine to create a 'leather, bourbon, and pipe tobacco' scent from my office. A long time ago I found "Walt's Office" which was supposed to be what Walt Disney's office smelled like but it still wasn't quite what I was looking for and the scent didn't last long at all. I found individual scented candles at a craft show and actually melted them together to create something I liked. It was then that I decided that scented oils would most likely last longer, I just had to find the right ones. P&J scented oils are very much like the real thing. Leather smells just like a western boot store. The Sweet Tobacco smells just like a freshly opened packet of pipe tobacco and reminded me very much of my grandfather's house. The Bay Rum is pleasant but not really my cup of tea, however, the Sandalwood and Teakwood were on spot! Alas, the cedar reminded me of an ashtray and I won't be using it. Of the six scents, four went above and beyond my hopes and I'll definitely be mixing them for my office. If you are considering this Gentleman's assortment, don't let my nose be your guide as you may well love the scents that I didn't like. Oh, and for the bourbon scent? I simply mixed in a splash of Scotch with the oils. Placed the mix on my candle warmer and the aroma was just short of heavenly. Just what the writer ordered!

It's worth the wait...Nope, not at all! Delivery time was painfully long so it must have come from China or somewhere else. But that's not my biggest gripe about the scents. As the title says two out of six. I have not had another essential oil in those scent categories but I know I don't like the majority from first, second, or third smell. The only two that are top of the list are the sweet tobacco and the sandalwood a close second. 1st point they are strong so tread carefully when using or applying. I know better when it comes to oils so be very moderate until you achieve the desired levels. I did stumble on a fun scent combo by combining sweet tobacco and sandalwood and it was interestingly pleasant. I will play around with the other scents to see if any are worth keeping. The next best two scents are bay rum and teakwood. The leather and cedar are pungent and the cedar does not have that pleasant cedar smell that I have grown to love. I just want to return the whole batch but I think the effort to return it is not even worth the time. I'm going to see if they are salvageable or if they grow on me. If my opinion changes about any of the scents I will surely update my review good or bad.

I've already gotten compliments when wearing a combination of cedar and sandalwood.

Have bought this brand before. They are consistently good quality oils with nice fragrances and are pretty accurately described on the box. Will buy again.
