Can the solar panel be mounted?

Hi dear, Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the solar net lights can install in soil. Insert the spike into connecting rod，then assemble the solar panel to cradle on the anchor spike, then you can plug the ground stake into soil. Any questions, just contact us at any time and we will happy to help you. : ) Sincerely, EchoSari

If you are installing these outside, you may want to consider https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LGJ5765?ref=myi_title_dp Those guys hook up directly into your outdoor landscape lighting system. Brighter than solar lights. And you won't need any 120V power outlet or long ugly power cords or power splitters or any extra timers to turn them on/off. It just magically works your existing landscape lighting system. Minimal fuss!!

Does the power switch need to be in the on position for them to charge? And then will they automatically turn on and off in the on position?

Yes. I believe the switch must be on to charge. They will turn off automatically in the on position. They turn off at dawn or when battery drains.
