Superman: An Origin Story (DC Comics Super Heroes)

My son loved it. We read it together! It is a great comic book to introduce to children!

How sad is it that the state of the comic book and comic-based movie industries are so bad, I had to find solace in a children's book series? I bought the first four books in this series on a lark, and was easily taken with the simple, charming writing. What REALLY made me fall in love, though, was the art of Luciano Vecchio. It's good to know there are still artists out there who can take this overused and frankly tired Bruce Timm art style and make stand up and sing. Great all-around books.

This is a fun book to read to the kiddo interested in superheroes. Great mix of text and illustrations.

Really like this book. Been buying my niece (who's turning 6 in a few months) and nephew (who just turned 3) superhero books for a while now. She loves them, he just got into them. I started out with the Step into Reading ones, then moved onto the Classic story ones. Having purchased nearly all of those for them (they have a ton!), I was looking for a new level up. This fit the bill perfectly for that. Sure this book is quick, but it tells the story the way it should be told. The illustrations are great, and the reading level is a step above those books I've been buying them. I can only hope we get more stories from this series of all the characters like this. Sure enough, I'll be buying those too (already bought the Wonder Woman and Catwoman ones). Just hope to get more then origin stories on this reading level for all these great characters!

Great for little ones! This very large print edition is great for reading to kids. We have a bunch of these origin series and they're great for covering the basic mythology. The illustrations are big and bright and the paper quality and inks are nice. Very happy with these.

It's ok, not bad, not great. It mentions the "big bang" theory in the beginning, so... 😕
