These are not state of the art but they are very good for value/performance. The initial impression is excellent; bright, sharp and clear with good contrast. Detailed testing show a few minor imperfections, but they are relatively minor. They are not Swavorskis. There is a sweet spot very slightly below the centre where chromatic aberration, colour fringing, is negligible and resolution really very good. Above this point there is a little magenta fringing, and below a little turquoise fringing, on high contrast edges. This limits the results just a little at longer ranges, but you'll have to spend big money to get much better. Resolution is very good for about the central 60-70% of the large apparent field of view vertically, and good throughout horizontally. There is some pincushion distortion but really you have to look for it. Build quality is really good, they feel like a premium product. A first pair came with a soft case with an unstitching logo and were returned. The binos were fine and optical performance seems extremely sample-consistent. Overall very pleased.

Excellent binoculars with a sharp, bright image. A complicated harness comes with the case so you can walk around with the binoculars on your chest like a proud dad with a new baby. Not for me, so I took scissors to the straps and cobbled together a simple shoulder strap. Otherwise great.

Admittedly a novice here who purchased these after alot of research. I took a chance on buying these after some reviews slightly favouring another make. From a novice with a critical eye, I cannot fault the viewing experience or handling of these. I got a litte distracted from others talking of colour aberrations etc. I cannot see any such failings. Also the lack of numerals for the eyepiece adjustment.. there are 5 clear markings there. I know my setting is 1.5 to the left. One of the main deciding factors for me was the lifetime warranty. As I live in Ireland I was worried about warranty with an online purchase. Vortex have an agent here which will handle any warranty issues. This is great peace of mind for me. Some of the other Brand names did not have this facility.

Bought specifically for a trip to Yellowstone National park and I found them excellent. Sharpness is very good and distance focus is good, no bad points. The animals like wolves can be a long distance off and these were able to spot them but if you want real good viewing a spotting scope is required which are much harder to use.

These are very nice binoculars. Fantastic build quality and with a good image. However the minimum IPD is 60mm. This what mine is and thought this wouldn’t be an issue. However with the objective lens covers tethered the rubber rings prevented the binoculars from being set to their minimum IPD setting. This means they have to be removed and I wasn’t happy about this. Additionally the image is excellent at shorter distances I found the sharpness to be lacking at longer distances. These two factors meant I had to return them.

Small and fast focus would advise 10 or 8 x mag for birding but the 12 x 50 is brilliant for long range viewing of birds of prey. Good optics for the money I am very pleased with them.

Really sturdy and top quality. The image quality is excellent and the harness and bag that comes with it is also excellent. Very pleased with this product.

Optics are ok, but a couple of months after purchase the right eyepiece struggled to 'wind down' for use with spectacles. Now it is stuck in the open position and won't wind down. Minimal usage and 3 months after purchase. Unacceptable.

Bonjour, j'étais septique au début et avant l'achat et vraiment très hésitant me suis fié au commentaire et après les avoir commandés reçu et avoir bien pris le temps de les essayer Je suis vraiment ravie et ne regrette pas du tout mon achat ! Les plus : jumelles vraiment top on voit clairement de pré comme de loin pour ceux qui aiment regarder très loin paysages oiseaux vraiment très loin sont être vraiment surpris par la netteté de l'image c'est comme si vous étiez juste à côté même par temps nuageux possible de faire un réglage vraiment fin de très bonnes fabrication carcasse et étanchéité bien construit et pour finir savoir quels sont garanties à Vie devrait vous guider dans votre achat ! Les moins qui sont vraiment dérisoire Je trouve le système d'accroche pour les porter un peu trop compliqué une manière plus simple aurait été la bienvenue ! Ensuite un peu lourde mais personnellement ne pose pas vraiment de problème dans un sac à dos où autre ! Ensuite pour regarder vraiment loin surtout en 12x50 il faut prendre l'habitude de rester immobile pour avoir une meilleure vision de très loin mais c'est vraiment pour des petits détails ! After more than 10 years I had to replace my Nikon Monarch 8x42 Binoculars, but didn't want to spend $330-$340 for the same ones. I asked AI what would be a good, lower-cost replacement, and these were the #1 recommendation at just under $200. I was pleasantly surprised that these have exceeded my expectations in every way ... size & weight, build quality, and most importantly the optics, which are clear, crisp, and bright. The included, very well-fitted rubberized lens and eyepiece covers provide excellent protection and are easy to remove and replace. Vortex's unlimited, unconditional, lifetime, VIP Warranty is a big big plus, and pretty unbelievable. If anything ever happens to these, I'll never have to pay for new ones!

Love these binoculars. Compared to my venerable old ones they have excellent optics and are much lighter. Well worth the upgrade. However, I’m no expert- just enjoy watching magnificent birds on our billabongs.
