HOOPER - HOOPER (1 DVD)

Great fun film

Never released on DVD in the UK, and only released in a poor pan and scan release in the US, this has finally got a release it deserves, in a new 16/9, 1080p print, for all UK fans, it's region free so can play on ALL Blu-ray players, one of Burt's best, great picture, nice price, a fun, fun movie, for me a must own. Thanks Warner.

Love, Love, Love this film. I'd been searching for ages and ages to get this on DVD. I knew it was a Region 1 DVD but that wasn't going to stop me from buying it. So to be able to watch it I also bought, from Amazon, a region free dvd player. May seem to some like a bit of an expense for just one dvd, but to me it was well worth it. Thank you

This is a film that is definitely of its era, I bought this because I remember watching it as a teenager and back then Burt Reynolds was a huge Hollywood star, the story of 'Hooper' is on the surface about Hollywood stuntman and one in particular 'Hooper' (Burt Reynolds) is considered the best at what he does until a young up and coming stuntman (Jan Michael Vincent) enters the story and he can perform the stunts with a little more speed than 'the older guys' can, in many ways the story has a 'passing of the torch' theme running through it. There are scenes that look a little dated now in respect to rhythm and pace however when the stunts are being performed on the screen that's when this film really shines and so it should when it is a film about stuntmen and women it's even more thrilling when you remind yourself that there was no C.G.I around when this film was made, all the stunts performed in the film where performed in physical cars by real people. The picture quality is great and the sound too, watching it again was a VERY nice walk down memory lane and transported me (just for a moment) back to when I was a teenager, star struck by Mr Reynolds and his infamous moustache. But, as I said, unfortunately it is a film of it's time and therefore could be considered uninteresting or boring to some however if it's great stunts and great visuals you're looking for with funny scenes and a gag real at the end of the film let 'Hooper' remind you how the movies used to be made, you may just have a good time.

Details on cover say 4-3 but on playing it says picture format redone to fit your screen, and yes...its any region...ntsc..watched the start..very good copy....P.S. Well, after suffering from poor info on many dvds i now own 2 ntsc dvds i`ve not tried to play..please killing eve pal2..when..beatles get back from china cheap ntsc.. THIS dvd yes says 4-3 but it is 16-9..get it right people..i read its also remastered??? Honestly no info has not stopped me buying more..having left an entire archive..dvds/cds/all formats..forced to move now re ordering what i need. Please amazon..full details..

Its a great film, but if you already own the DVD and are looking for an upgrade in quality, dont bother buying this BluRay Version, its a basic format transfer no more than that. No criticism of the seller however the item was despatched fast and arrived safe. It plays fine on my UK BluRay player, but has little or no enhancement over the DVD version.

One of my all-time favourite films, been trying to find it since the VHS packed up...Some really brilliant stunts buy some of the, then , best stuntpeople in the business... A wonderful tribute to the virtually unsung heros who put the Action into action films.
