Super cute and all my kids loved this book! Very engaging

In this delightful little book, the artist depicts eight baby animal faces--a panda cub, seal pup, bunny, zebra foal, kitten, puppy, calf and lamb. Each is done in striking black and white, making it easy for a baby to see, and each image delights. The panda cub gives a bashful smile, the calf a gentle gaze, and the cat a cute smile. At the end, a young child is shown giggling happily as he reaches up to play with each of the eight baby animals shown in miniature and hanging down from strings. I got this book along with Look, Look! by Peter Linenthal and Black & White by Tana Hoban. All of them are good, and the Hoban book has one feature that Baby Animals doesn't, but I consider this one to be the best.

I bought this book for my daughter when she was a newborn, and she was very much enthralled. We had no problem "reading" through this whole book without protest, in fact, several times in a row! Baby's love the simplicity of pictures like this, and I thought the artwork was sweet too. The best part of the book for my daughter was at the very end when you see the baby laying in her crib with the animal mobile overhead. Every time we flipped to that page she would get very excited, smile, coo, and point to all the hanging animals individually so I could tell her what they were again & what noises they made. My daughter enjoyed this book until she was about 9 months old. Best infant book I own! I began reading my daughter this book & similar ones when she was first born & have continued reading to her. She is now nearly 16 months old & can say over 150 words!! This is the first book I bought her. I think it's great there are books like this that can enrapture children from the very start!!

My 3 month old baby loves this book. We’ve had it for 3 weeks and he still enjoys it. He especially loves the panda cub and the calf. He smiles in delight with those two images. He looks at the book for quite some time when I put him down for tummy time. I tell him the name of the animals, the sounds they make, where do they live, etc. It’s great for “conversation” with my baby as he coos back. It’s a great tool as a mom to entertain my baby while making me feel I’m teaching him something. Since it doesn’t have words anyone can make it as fun as they want.

A lot thinner than expected. I wish it was a thicker board book. I also didn't expect baby at the end, it's okay but unnecessary and then limits diversity aspect.

My baby wasn’t very interested in this as a newborn, so I actually regretted this purchase at first, as I thought that was when they liked these types of books. BUT, now as a five month old, he LOVES the book - it was what got him to roll the first time he did it (back to front). He really looks at the pictures. I use it with him open on the side of his mat each day, rather than ‘reading’ it to him. The pictures are beautiful too - it’s not the usual simplified animal pictures you get in other books.

Just what I was looking for!

Simple sharp colours and good sized prints

A very cute high contrast board book... I only wish I had gotten it earlier! These high contrast books are very good for a newborn s visual and cortical stimulation and development and can be started as early as 5 days of life! Sooner the better...they slowly improve the baby s focus and concentration as well.. making nappy changes/play time/tummy time/mom time a breeze :)

Meu filho olha pra esse livro desde os primeiros dias de vida, realmente funciona para o bebê RN, que enxerga bem mal no início. Até hj com 3 meses ele adora olhar o livro e até já tem preferência pelos animais , recomendo para mães que estão gravidas comprar e mostrar pro seu bebezinho desde o começo, vai distrair eles.
