Compact, lightweight, durable and easy to inflate and deflate via valve. Comes in a convenient carrying pouch. I purchased this to pack in my carry on luggage as I was anticipating having to spend the night in airports on trip and it did not disappoint. I don’t recall the cost off the top of my head but it was definitely reasonable and my impression was that it was a good value for the price paid. I did purchase a small rechargeable inflation device that fit in the palm of my hand - which made inflation and deflation quick. I was able to inflate it in about 30 seconds. Deflation was a bit tricky and seemed to work better to expel the air by hand. Highly recommend as a lightweight travel sleeping pad for airport layovers or any situation where insulation is not a concern .

Before bringing it out camping, I tested it using it on a cot in my house. I woke up to it mostly deflated. Used a spray bottle and soapy water to find a leak on the top side near the torso area. I checked both sides and only found the one leak. Will use the included patch kit and recheck for leaking. No instructions for the patch. I'm assuming it goes on dry. I will let it cure for 24 hours before reinflating. Very comfortable no matter how you lay on it. I'm upset that it came with a leak but it's comfy enough I'm going to try to salvage it. EDIT: Had to reinflate twice overnight. Can't find the leak with soapy water. I bring a small pump when backpacking since I do cold weather hiking so it's not a major issue, but if you don't plan on pairing this with a foam pad you will wake up on the ground. With a 2.2 R-value foam pad underneath I started to get cold at freezing temperatures. Did a lot better than I expected it to in cold weather. Update #2: Klymit replaced my pad no questions asked. Love great customer service.

I did NOT have air leakage issues. The good: feels nice, rolls up well, the valve was really nice and enabled me to finely adjust the air and deflate it entirely. I used it with a low of 60 degrees so no feedback on the insulation. The bad: It didn’t come with the inflation sack so I had to blow it up manually. It was fine, but a weird valve to do it with. But the biggie is - it just isn’t that comfortable. When I inflated it all the way the zig zag pattern felt like it was digging into me. Note that it was warm so I wasn’t in a sleeping bag. When I got in my bag it did help a bit. When I let the air out it was SO much more comfortable, but if I didn’t have my weight carefully spread out I’d touch the ground. So basically with any movement I bottomed out. So for $45 for a last minute trip, it was great. But I’m definitely going to buy something better for my next trip.

I was really depending on this to keep my sleeping bag off the cold, hard, rocky ground. It was great the first night, but by the second night, it was somehow loosing air. I packed/rolled it up inside the tent and there was absolutely no reason why it should have gotten punctured. It was packed at the base of my backpack between the sleeping bad, sleeping bag liner, and clothes. I blew it up twice on the 2nd night - hoping I had just forgotten to flip the deflate valve or hadn't put enough air in it -- but both times I woke up rolling over rocks on the freezing cold ground as it could no longer hold air. Out of desperation to not have just a sleeping bag on rocks in freezing temperatures I tried it one last time on the third night -- and it was flat in less than an hour. Luckily others in the back packing group were able to help out with tarps and table cloth type items -- but it was still a pretty much sleepless night with a 8 mile hike the next day. This sleeping pad is going in the trash and I'm looking for a sleeping pad that can make it longer than one night. Super disappointed. **Note - I did blow it up and test it prior to leaving...so I was aware of how the the inflate/deflate worked and how it packed up. I'm also very careful with gear. It was rolled up inside a tent and packed in its bag when it went back into the backpack. There is absolutely NO reason it should have been loosing air on the second use. These products should be made for camping/backpacking conditions -- routine blow up and pack away shouldn't be an issue.

This review is based on five days use on the Southern Section of the Pacific Crest Trail in May. Temperature ranged from 50-74 degrees Fahrenheit. The compact stowage size was plus when competing with limited pack space. The innovative flip filling valve functioned as designed. When sleeping atop the mattress, my bag tended to slide off. However, sleeping direct on the mattress with a quilt was excellent. No leakage noted. I never “grounded” during the trip. For spring, summer, camping the gear performed as advertised. Not tested in fall, or winter, temperature range. Given the price point, demonstrated performance, compactness, and light weight; the Klymit mattress is a solid value.

Such a great pad that I now own 2. They’ve been used car camping, backpacking, and snow camping. It’s never gone flat on me overnight. Super comfortable, and light.

I ordered the Klymit Static V2, but received a Klymit Static V Summit instead (see photo of the box). Since this is the product Amazon sent me, this is what I’m reviewing. On my son’s first backpacking trip, I discovered the valve has a steep learning curve. There were no instructions, and I didn’t try it until we were already in the backcountry with no cell service. The pad went flat in the middle of the night because I hadn’t fully snapped the valve cover closed; it takes more force than I expected. Packing up was also frustrating because I didn’t realize the deflate valve rotates to open, so I spent 10–15 minutes pushing the valve nozzle to the side while squeezing the pad to get the air out. I also wish it was compatible with the Gear Doctors inflator bag I already own, since I had to inflate it by mouth. Once I understood the valve, the issues made sense, but I strongly recommend practicing with it at home before taking it into the backcountry.

It does the job per price value.. I use it moto camping its ultralight and comfy, yet you would need a small air pump if ur not blowing in the air yourself and definitely a insulted folding mat under.
